All is in the title, will there be some love for french or german (for example) speaking people in this PARG ?

I'm not preaching for myself, I can manage quite well in english, but I am hesitating to introduce some of my friends to this project because english only will definitely be a problem for them.

    Mmm, that's not entirely true.

In the TSW community, we have a good amount of both German and French speaking people. While the ARGs were in English, people who could translate posted on forums meant for TSW players who did not speak English. This allowed non-English speaking people to participate. I recall on #33 they even beat the English speaking community on some of the puzzles.

It's not exactly localization, but it does allow non-English speakers to participate in the missions and follow the latest events.

Like PFVScalene said, I think there are solutions to help non english speaking people participate in ARGs. I know it is not possible to translate everything, but I also think that not understanding the basic briefing videos or recordings or things like that, and having to always ask other players to explain to you what you are supposed to do is not really fun.

So, I'm not saying that everything should be translated, but I am persuaded that there are solutions to make this ARG easier to understand for people who don't speak english very well.

Hey there! For nor the ARG project is in English. (I mean by that the Hub, narrative in video, etc) The puzzle are not. They can be in french, english, russian, rot-13, morse, hex, binary... you got the point.

For this budget right now we cannot throw in localisation. (Actors in 2 language, etc...) It could be added as a stretch goal.

Out of curisity, what language our your friend ? If you can gather enough friend, we could support a localized hub in your language. But not the full game. That also could be interesting for player to jump into a completely foreign hub. =)

    Thanks for your answer, Anashel.

I get your point and I was aware that the puzzles are not meant to be translated, so it's ok.

And I am aware also of the extra cost of localisation if you do it by hiring actors speaking different languages etc... So I actually envisionned something much more simple, such as subtitles for example.

I am and my friends are french. I don't have a crowd of them that could be interested but I know that the french community involved in TSW is not that small (and the people in Quebec may like this as well :) )
