I was just wondering if there was a way to play WoW offline?? I know it sounds like a stupid question, because it's a MMORPG and the goal of it is to have a huge world with lots of characters, but since WoW is so easy to solo, I would like to play it offline because I travel often and can't really log in the internet. I'm sure there is some way to do that, or there will be one...
Anyway, if anyone knows how to play it offline, I would love to learn how!!

I was not sarcastic, there was a program that allowed to play offline, but the site dosent work anymore. See this post for more details.
I know such a thing won't come from Blizzard! I'm not dumb. It's just that u can play WoW without speaking or receiving the help of any other player, so why not play it alone and offline! Also, like I told u, I travel a lot and can't always log in.
Here is the post I told u about, it is (or was) a free server where u could play online or offline.
Should work this time... : http://www.planetamd64.com/index.php?showtopic=3928&st=0
If you can't afford to P2P...buy GW and keep this trash to yourself. Posting this type of crap could get a lot of people banned......aren't you such a helpful person.

incase your not too stupid. emulated servers and thier software is illegal stuff..

asking for it is a LARGE no no
the problem with offline and/or emulated servers is that the quests/npcs/mobs etc are all based on server information - NOT on what is stored on your computer...
that is a lOT of information, and wouldn't be able to be run on a single computer (especially not a laptop)
To answer your question offline play is definitely not available. I don't quite understand how you want to play 'offline' but netherless connect to a server, that's contradictory, unless ofcourse 'offline' were to refer to non-official servers but that's still 'online'. There are these possibilities but like it says in that thread you posted they seldom work as they should, since a lot of the game has to be done serverside so those kinda servers are quite buggy and as such can be considered beta, although those admins definitely put the same amount of effort into them as the officials (if not more). Lastly some may even consider it 'morally wrong', not least the makers of this game but that doesn't make it illegal! Those private servers just don't get any support from Blizzard for the simple reason that they aren't making a profit through them, that's all, ...so much for moral.
Then again on the other hand if you bought the game and someone offers a free server why should the makers be entitled to fees for services some customer don't want to use? I consider it the industry's fault too, since the prices for online games have risen quite a bit in the last few years and it's almost become a common consesus to charge fees of 15$/m no matter how inferior the official services really are. Nor does it matter to them if these fees are reasonable or justified and considering the amount of lag, long downtimes and/or queues, poor CS and so forth I can understand people who don't want to pay good money for such mediocre services and are wondering about alternatives.
Lastly, I don't think people have the right to bash the threadstarter, afterall it's him who might get banned if his queries go too far (as in warez or similar), but it's ridiculous how some of you wet their pants just because of a simple question and a totally legitimate one at that.
Ya know, for people who criticize a guy by calling him stupid and crap because he asked a simple question, you all aren't too bright yourselves.
In case you didn't know, there are games out there where you can play online AND offline. Halo 2 for Age of Empires are prime examples. And believe it or not, places like MSN have centers dedicated ENTIRELY to single and online multiplayer PC games. There's little fad going around called XBox Live - it allows a game to be both single player AND multiplayer.
Woah. What a concept, huh? A game that's both single player AND multiplayer? Thank god you all aren't game developers.
Thank you sposocke for answering this guy's question and explaining it to him as if he wasn't retarded. Thank you for answering my question too - I didn't think it had offline play, but I wanted to make sure. As I won't have internet for a while and the game looks like fun, I didn't want to buy a game but then not be able to play it.
I dont think playing offline should be illegal. As long as you are not making a profit out of it.
Here is the reason behind my thoughtI bought the game and I get to play it ONLINE. But I dont like it or dont care much about the online part. I dont want to pay money to play 10 hours a month. So why not make an option to have all the NPCs, all the quests and items in a game available to play offline. That way they still sell their game, people who play offline do not waste Bliz bandwidth thus saving them money.
Sure there will be people who would make illegal copies and cracks to WoW so that people can play offline with only one copy of WoW, but not all of them will do that, plus many more who did not want to pay a monthly fee will be encouraged to buy it. I think its a fair tradeoff.
Those illegal free servers will never be any serious competition to original WoW servers because it takes so much time to keep things up to date in a working order. They would require constant attention from a group of dedicated people who get paid to do it.
I think WoW should be allowed to play in a single player mode, much like diablo or starcraft.
I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time.

They are not mmorpgs.
They do not have a persistant world capable of holding thousands of people.
They do not require a large support to constantly upgrade the game.
They do not store the characters information on a server.
They are miniscule in comparistion to the size of undering taking and technology used to run a mmoprg.
