Yes you can get a refund. Go through whoever you used, paypal, credit card, bank, etc. They will give you your money back. Tell them they lied and have changed what you bought. Theres a million reason you can get your money back from the companies you used to pay for star citizen.

lol, OP should have used Google before pledging. Chris Roberts created Wing Commander, one of the most famous games of all time. He probably could have funded Star Citizen himself rofl. if you thought Chris Roberts was "indie" you were mistaken from the get go.

Situation at time of writing (November 2014):

Yes, you can get a refund.

CIG does and has given back the money to people who are dissatisfied.  Only recently one of the posters here got his 1000 $ pledge back. CIG has even refunded the pledge to a VERY vocal critic that is badmouthing the game for months now on many different gaming websites under various aliases.

Which tells ME a lot about the quality of CR and his team. They are not in it to make a big buck and then disappear. They want people to share their passion and vision for this project. If the interest in SC has gone, they refund.

You might even make a profit instead of asking for a straight refund. There is a "grey market" for LTI ships and you may sell them with a markup to interested backers.
