If people are going to pay (a reduced fee...) for that, knowing full well what they're getting themselves into, then there's no problem. As I said, no one's getting tricked here.
LOL what a mindless Fanboi. What about all the people who pre-ordered the game under the belief that they were paying for a finished game and getting 40% off? They got a game that is in beta, for 50% more than you can buy it now and re-funds are not given out unless for very specific circumstances.
Your defence of these low life criminals sickens me.

You know, if you ask me, having giant never-ending threads about this game only encourages others to buy the damn thing out of morbid curiosity just as the OP did =(
After all, negative publicity is still publicity, yes?

While I have not yet played Mourning, Zaxtor is becoming quite convincing here
Maybe this is like movies. Sometimes if you hear so much praise for a big movie and then go and see it expecting so much, even though the movie is good, you are left feeling disappointed. However, sometimes you go into a movie you havent heard much about or have heard a lot of negative comments about and it is a lot better then what you have heard, therefore you think quite a lot of that movie.
I would guess that Zaxtor was disappointed with EQ2 due to all the hype for years about the game, as it disappointed him compared to what he was expecting, yet when he played Mourning, he expected the worst, and was pleasantly surprised with what he saw - even if it wasnt quite the best game out there.
Regardless, maybe the game is worth trying out. It would be very nice to actually play a game made from the heart as oppposed only made to try and make millions of dollars.

Actually Ive read through the posts again.....not much bashing against mourning here at all. Nothing that isnt true for the most part anyway. The bottom line here is this guy wants to make a review of a game he's played for 2.5 hours. Play it for a week , 2 weeks then throw down a nice review of the game or bad whichever the case may be. WHy even waste your time writing a review when your mind could change in roughly 2 more hours ,lol.
You guys are experienced mmorpg'rs.................... So you know things can change even 1 to 2 months down the road of playing a game let alone only 2.5 hours into a game.
And as far as sheep...personally Ill take stability and longevity any time as all the other games crash and burn over the years.

I will agree with this too, that a game can change and your opinion can change based on more time. However the last post which I read by the OP stated he now has well over 20 hours in the game. And in only 2 days, that also says something. I doubt he is spending so much time in the game if he utterly hates his experience there. From what I see of his review, which I would consider more then fair as he used to hate the game, I would be willing to bet that if he was to review the game now after more then 20 hours in, his score of the game would even be higher then it was initially. Maybe it's time to find out personally.
Originally posted by zaxtor99 Look, at this point, I have well over 20 hours of in game time... and MOST of the features are implemented. The bloodline promised has not been yet implemented. But it is promised, and I believe that it will be.
And why you should be more believeable now that you played 20 hours, after your rushed an early score? Why should I believe you more than this guy?
redjunkopera:
Well here is my initial review:
The good-
1) Clouds obscuring the sun make it darker... you can see the shadow of clouds pass... cool effect. 2) Skill system appears like it could make for interesting play later on. Can purchase abilities with experience and can mix and match across any professions. Still much much much work needed tho. 3) The best thing I can say about Mourning is it's world is huge and well constructed. Going through the mountains in Mourning you are really going through mountains... the world is huge... or at least seems huge at the moment... haven't really played enough to see the whole thing yet.
The Bad-
Let me just post my running list of bugs and issues that I'm also posting over on their boards.
1) At character creation - when hover over stats need description of what the stats do. 2) At character creation - need zoom feature so that you can more closely look at features of your avatar as you customize. Also would be better to pick skin and hair tones from a pallette rather than +/- buttons. 3) Need 24-7 customer service. At least 1 person available to address issues at all times, for instance if you bought the game and cannot get onto the server. If you want people to pay for a product, you need to support that product. You could have the best game in the world and people will not play if your customer service is crappy, or non-existant. If the servers are down you need to let people know why, and give an ETA on when they will be back up. 4) UI needs to be prettier. Initial login interface is ugly. Incorporate a chat room into your login interface so that you can chat while you wait for files to scan (see Star Wars Galaxies)... this would be a good place for CSRs to help out people having issues. 5) While game is loading you have the small mourning box in the middle of your desktop and can see the rest of the junk... make it so the mourning box is in the middle of an inspiring screenshot from the game that takes up your whole screen so that you know your Mourning experience is going to begin. 5) Need music at character creation, loading screens. If you guys are low overhead find some people willing to work for the exposure. Need music. I HATE Star Wars Galaxies but I still hear the music from that game in my head whenever I play online and it makes me want to play that game even tho it sucks. 6) Cannot change the font size of chat text in game. 7) Water is not water, just an illusion. Should make it so you can swim in water. 8) Not enough options for setting up controls. When I make ctrl + left my strafe it does not actually let me strafe, only turn. Cannot bind 5 on the numpad to a function. 9) Game sticks every few seconds... freezes up for a split second. 10) Lots of mobs stuck underworld. Beetles, merchants. 11) Monsters with health greater than their max. eg 750/450hp. Some of them get increased health as you attack them. 12) Collision problems. My characters get stuck on lot of things and are unable to free themselves. Doorways and buildings are the worst. 13) World is lifeless. NPCs aren't doing anything. Monsters aren't doing anything. Need to make stuff be happening. 14) Chat commands need to not be case sensitive. If I want to send Mace a messege I should be able to type "/send mace hey man whats up?" instead of "/send Mace whats up?". 15) Cannot target yourself to cast beneficial spells, or the way you do it isn't intuitive. 16) Chat really needs a lot of work. No case sensitivity should be required for commands. Should be able to /reply to talk back to the person who last sent you a messege. 17) A real basic tutorial would be great to help the newbies figure out what's going on... Especially those who might not be very familiar with MMO's. On a scale of 1 to 10 for user friendliness this game is at like a 2. The whole game doesn't need to be dumbed down, but need a short ramp up period and some easy tutorial info. MARKETING TIP: You want the Customer to be able to easily use and enjoy your product. 18) Hotbars reset when game crashes. Would like for assigned buttons to remain in bar. 19) Need an in game manual available under = Options/help. Explaining commands, how skills work, how armor effects gesture etc. 20) Download, installation of client, and signing up for account/serial number needs to be more user friendly. MARKETING TIP: Right now your customer has to jump through hoops in order to purchase your product. You want your product to be as easily accessible at possible... which means dump fileplanet and host your own download servers, integrate the purchasing process and serial retrieval into the login console. Make it EASY. 21) Logged in this morning and there were no monsters anywhere except for one untargetable mob. Things like this need to be noticed and fixed asap. 22) Targeting of mobs is often difficult or impossible. 23) Monsters are often out of range no matter where you are... even if you are standing on top of them. 24) Haven't found anything to harvest yet. Gathering materials is something that A LOT of people enjoy spending time doing in games and it isn't clearly evident how this happens in this game. 25) When I have a hammer type weapon equipped, the hammer is invisible. Elf male. 26) Gaurds in hometowns do not stop attackers. 27) If you /quit in the middle of PvP you can escape without losing. Guy PK'd me while I was afk for bio and then /quit when I had almost killed him for payback. 28) Arcanium armor. When male elf wears shoulders, legs, hands or feet of Arcanium armor the right side is invisible... AKA missing the right shoulder, right hand, right leg or right foot. Also Arcanium arm armor has no graphic... shows up as bare arms.
The Ugly-
1) Server Stabiltiy is horrible. Servers are routinely crashing, and I do not think they have anyone dedicated to their operations. I think they don't even have anyone working the weekends except on call... 2) The game is choppy as hell. Think SWG in Theed during an invasion lag... and this is just with 2 NPCs chasing you. It really drains you to deal with. 3) Lots of unfinished stuff all over the place. Bronze bars don't have a graphic so it's just a ? in a white circle. Cloaks are in the game, but they are also a ? in a white circle and a bad item, or that's what the game told me when I tried to equip one.
This review is much more reliable than yours. It says what it works and doesn't work, and most importantly it doesn't express an opinion, so you are free to make your own. I don't want review to say that Mourning is shit, contrary of what you think, I just want a review with tangible facts so I can make my own decisions. You should learn one thing or 2 from this guy mate, before you make another review, so people won't tell you that you look like a fanboy and you won't get upset.

Radlin, the point is not if we like this game, the point is if this game is ready to be released, and from the above review(and millions others), it is hardly a finished product. The point if people should pay $20 for something that is not playable (as in enjoyable, the fact that you can move and cast few spells, doesn't count). The point is if the devs should make it clear before you buy this game that it is still in Beta, instead of disguising it as a "released" product. I believe it is not fair that this game is sold as a finished product, because it is half way through, and all potential customers should be warned before they buy.
PS:I have nothing against "pay to play Beta" as long it is clear to everyone in the game description, that this game is in Beta. Don't you agree with me? I think this is quite a reasonable request and i think it should put the devs in a better situation to manage the critics. Although I think it will be too late, the devs messed up so much that it will be a miracle if they can turn this game into something good.

If you truely belive this is not about money but heart you really deserve to be playing this game. I played this game and it is horrible, what new features does it bring to MMORPG's? This game is nothing new and people lookin to buy it should be well informed on what they are getting into. What needs to be stated on fileplanet and there webstite is that this game is in beta and you will be paying to help build a game. I think we may disagree on the heart thing but noone can dispute there honesty. Pre-order anyone?
Originally posted by ste2000 I admit that by displaying that signature I am looking for trouble. So I don't blame people for thinking I am a Fanboy.
I have to say that although I like Vanguard the most, I am looking forward other games such as D&L, Darkfall, Irth Online and recently Warhammer, the best one will get my money. The fact that I follow Vanguard doesn't mean that I am a blind fanboy, in fact I am the opposite. I am usually a pain in the arse for devs, because when things start to go pear shaped, I will let them know, and as you noticed I am not shy..........
In fact I really hate the fanboysm, I think that it damages the game and the industry in the long term. I hate "mr yes", that approve everything that the devs throw at them. When I discuss games that I like, I usually do it fiercely, but always trying to be constructive and explain the reasons why I like the game, you ll never hear from me, the "game suxx" or the game "will rock" unless I am kidding.
I base my judgements on facts and when someone try to put down a game with wrong facts, I might behave like a fanboy, cause I really hate, people that twist the truth. But in the end I always try to respect people that have different preferences than mine, as long as they know the facts and they are polite and open minded.
So it kinda hurt me when people call me Fanboy, but I admit that displaying a banner like that I kinda deserve it.
Yes I know what Microsoft did to Turbine, but in the official Vanguard forums everyone is making sure that Microsoft stay out of the way, and apparently they understood, since Microsoft posts are quite humble and apolegetic.
Anyway if they don't get it, they know that Vanguard will be doomed, so it is better they let the professionals (Sigil) do the job.
Take care
I can't really see why you'd want Vanguard in your sig but I honestly hope it turns out to be a great game . I'm hoping DnL will be the one for me but with all the recent disappointments I'm not holding my breath!
ste2000, I think the problem is that people have different definitions for a 'review'
Don't take it so seriously, it's a review, where he states his experience of the game this far. He has said this many times, yet you want to argue what kind of review is a good review.
My opinion of an review is not as strict as yours.. For example, reviews often have reviewers opinions of the game. Actually, almost every review is based on opinions and not a list of what you can and can't do in game.
So could we stop arguing about if this is a good review or not.. Call it opinion if you like. It's not that big of a deal.
--------------- MMORPG genre=trend=lots of subscriptions/bad games
That is absolutely not a review. Not like any review I have ever seen anyhow. That is one persons list of what is working and what isn't... at the time in which he played.
And that list of bad things is about 50% inaccurate, atleast during the (over 30 hours now) of paytime I have had in the game.
For example... I do not freeze up every few seconds. I yet to find a mob that is hard to target, or stuck underground. Not one. I have also not found any mobs where they increased health as I hit them, nor have I seen a mob with higher then max hp such as 750/450. Some of the problems he states are accurate...
But here is where the "review" part comes in.. DO THEY MAKE THE GAME UNENJOYABLE, OR UNPLAYABLE.
And that is the answers I have given in my review.
I never said anywhere the game is perfect. Nor did I give the game a 100% score, lol.
Your problem is simply that you only think a review is valid if it makes the game look bad.
For example, if I put my experience in the same lists of what works and what doesn't and he had made a review much like mine, but my list made it the game look better then it was bad, and his review was fomatted like mine, but made the game look really bad.... Trust me, you'd be here telling me my list is not a review, but his is a great review and I should learn something from him.
You know this is true, man, and if I had given the game a 9% score instead, you would have agreed completely and said it was a great & valid review (even though you have never played it for 5 seconds yourself)
You can look over the net and find ANYTHING you want, and any data to make ANYTHING look good or bad. I'm sure I can find plenty of articles on the net for example that say ALL Panasonic televisions suck and are complete crap. But does this make it so? I could also find the opposite I'm sure.
You however, only think ANY review of Mourning is valid if it trashes the game. That is very easy to see. You have made your mind up and fail to budge, regardless. I however used to have your opinion. And I changed my opinion 360 degrees. Notice the difference?
Well Zaxtor you have almost convinced me to try it out. If money wasn't a tad tight right now I would go for it. Maybe next month. Oh for all the flamers..... you guys are as transparant as a sheet of glass. LOL
Originally posted by zaxtor99 You however, only think ANY review of Mourning is valid if it trashes the game. That is very easy to see. You have made your mind up and fail to budge, regardless. I however used to have your opinion. And I changed my opinion 360 degrees. Notice the difference?
I knew you were going to say that (not only the flamers are transparent as sheets of glass ). Well, I can say that the exactly opposite is true, that you want just to highlight the positive things about the game, hiding what is not working to make it look better than it is.
I have not problem in changing my mind, if the facts are there. And the facts are not supporting what you say, unfortunately.
There are still too many people complaining about the game being incomplete and missing things (have a look at Mourning forum, if you can read it before the mods delete the threads). These are the facts the count for me.
This kind of "partial" reviews don't help the cause of Mourning, it just make it worse (just read your "review" after a week and you will realise that it is way over the top and it looks made by a fanboy) Your post looks exactly the opposite of a post made by someone that hates Mourning. Since I don't believe neither the too positive review nor the too negative review, yours is one of those review that I classify highly suspicious.
What was needed was a balanced and honest state of the game, but we didn't get that. What we got instead is the description of the most beatuful game MMORPG industry has ever produced. Everyone was wrong and the poor devs have been misunderstood, by the whole world.
How cute. Devs should rename this game "Cinderella". Silly me that believe to all the thousands of negative posts about this game(included those of ex-fanboys), when all I need to do is to read the "impartial" (but way too positive) review of Zaxtor.
In my opinion you had a chance to make an honest and impartial review of this game and you blew it, I am afraid.
PS: I am the one that gave you the benefit of the doubt, because I thought you were going describe the state of the game in terms of playability, I didn't expect that you were going to put in it so many personal opinions.
Originally posted by ste2000 I think what he is trying to do is just to judge if this game is playable, in terms of mechanics, gameplay or server stability. I don't think he wants to judge the game style. So go on with the review
So I am very open to objective reviews, as long they are more facts based and less based on your opinion. In the end I don't know you, you might be or not be a fanboy, how would I know? By keeping your review a bit more sombre, you could have avoided this dilemma, and you could have made your review more believeable.
Even with the good press this thread has on mourning, we still have mourning fanboi flaming mmorpg.com.
that website is full of haters and run by losers.. who cares what they post there. The only thing thats usueful about that website is the list of games. Other than that theres absolutely no reason to ever go there...
Why go there when you could go to IGN or Gamespy or Gamespot for news on gaming which is a million times better than the regurgitated stuff being posted over there.
Only people who go there are the degenerates that get banned from any other place that actually has some rules..
I hate to tell that guy, but search "Mourning" on IGN and Gamepsy forums- they both have massive negative threads about mourning.
Originally posted by darquenblade You know, if you ask me, having giant never-ending threads about this game only encourages others to buy the damn thing out of morbid curiosity just as the OP did =( After all, negative publicity is still publicity, yes?
I agree to some extent...
And thats why I strongly agreed with Mourning being removed from MMORPG.com
And thats why I am going to make a policy now of just leaving this bone for others to chew. I have had the satisfaction of saying this game was a POS run by incompetents since January. I and others have been proved 100% right beyond even our most cynical cliams... nuff said then

But I don't know which of two things I find more appaling. That a member of this website took the time to provide information about his experience with a game, and all these good for nothing board jockies flamed him for it.

Some of you want to talk about idiotic statements that have little to do with the conversation at hand...
Well here you go, I present to you this whole post by Bitey, in which he provides us with 13 addresses for us to read, and acts like all are negative reviews of Mourning.
As dramatic as his post may look, it is essentially worthless, especially in reference to my review of the current state of Mourning.
Of all 13 of this references, ONLY ONE IS OF A NEGATIVE REVIEW OF MOURNING... ONLY ONE.
Check 'em out for yourself.
The other 12 are either other websites ranting that Mourning is "Vaporware", lmao, which it obviously isn't as I now have close to 40 hours in the game.... - or - they are links to other websites talking about how mmorpg.com dropped Mourning from their coverage or how the Mourning boards are unethical especially during beta months ago. None of this is anything new, and almost all are certainly not bad reviews of the game itself.
And AGAIN... I don't know why so many people are so pissed off that I bought the game, tried to give MY opinion of it and review it, and gave the final grade as a 78%.... This is the same as a "C". It's hardly like I was saying the game was scored as an A+. Good God people. There sure are some stubborn, hate-filled flamers aboard this site who can find nothing better to do then to bash, flame, and provoke others efforts.
I would also like to state that in the coming days, I will provide a deep, detail filled and much more complete review of this game after I have logged over 100 hours of game time in this game. I know again that I will get hate filled negative flames coming from so many people that have never even set foot in the game for even 5 seconds. But hey, this is becoming the standard on this website isn't it? Nobody can state their opinion or review of a game without 17,000 attacks as if God forbid that person didn't pick their friggin' religion to review instead.
And how the hell do so many of you know so damn much about the game at hand when you haven't even ever played it for 5 seconds??!! Talk about stupidity and ranting about something that you know nothing about. I know, I know some of you say there are problems found on different websites etc etc... but do you always go 100% behind all the negative publicity and refute anything that even grades a game as a "C"?
It's truly amazing to me how much crap people talk about something that they know absolutely nothing at all about. From this point on, I will still proceed with my final evaluation and review of Mourning, however I will not even respond to such idiocity from those who know nothing of the game or that only attack with no personal knowledge of the game themselves. Genuine interest questions are more then welcome, however such attacks will be completely ignored by myself as they don't even deserve a response.
I am now finally starting to understand why the devs of Mourning finally got to the point they did. These constant, insane attacks from people who know nothing about what they speak are impossible to deal with and even respond to. I now understand why they would delete such ill and nothing solid to stand on attacks on their boards. What a dreaded nightmare those poor guys must have went through... seriously. I have a headache just from reading this garbage myself.
And you are severely mistaken as to why the majority of people here have problems with the game, that much is clear. I'm not even going to bother touching on these topics because you obviously haven't put the effort into it yourself... regardless of how the GAME is, the company that makes it is UNTRUSTWORTHY... and that's that. You can play your game that is subpar to 99% of the current market all you want, but when an MMO company sets an unhealthy precedent where business practices and the gaming community is concerned... that's another issue entirely.

Again... another post from someone who thought exactly as I did before I gave the game a test try and played it.
And Again.... another post from someone who has never set foot inside the game itself for 5 seconds and is arguing my score of the game itself. Sheeesh.
I did not give a review on the billing practices of Mourning.
I did not give a review on the forum moderators for Mourning.
I did not give a review on the devs seeming hostile towards their customers in past months.
... I gave a review and a score of the game, which it sure seems you also have not played at all Harelin.
I am also not telling people to play the game, to DL it, or to even try it.
Trust me Harelin, I am fully aware of what has happened on Mournings boards, as I have been following the game for about 8 months now. I was a disbeliever for a long time, and posted MANY warnings on the practices I saw unfolding on the Mourning forums in the past.
Please stop attacking me for reviewing a game and giving what I feel is a fair score.
Anything less then what I gave Mourning wouldn't be fair.
...Because I cannot knock down the score of the game for what happens on the forums or what has happened 5 months ago.
I also cannot knock the score down because people have complained of double billing. I haven't been double billed. So why would I knock "my" review" of the game itself down for such things?
Again, it continues to amaze me how many people scream and cry out that my score of a 78 for the game is fanboy stuff when they themselves have never even played it.
If you have played the game at all, then fine, argue my score. But anyone who hasn't even tried it, please for God sakes, STFU already. You have insulted, downgraded, and flamed the game enough in the other 147 "trash Mourning" threads ...don't you think?
Support the game mechanics all you want, but distinguish that fine line and don't forget why we have been perpetuating this case against Mourning. Your beef is with those who bash the game that have not yet played it - do not confuse it with those of us that have been following the community for months and DO happen to know what we're talking about when it comes to the legitimate complaints towards Mourning's management.
If you have played the game at all, then fine, argue my score. But anyone who hasn't even tried it, please for God sakes, STFU already. You have insulted, downgraded, and flamed the game enough in the other 147 "trash Mourning" threads ...don't you think?
Have you finished? If there is someone that contribute to rise the flames in this posts, this is you, my friend. Your review is a flamebait itself, and your replies are not so diplomatic either. Your refusal to accept that your review is a POS, put you at the same level of Egomancer who refuses to accept that he made several big mistakes. What you have in common with him is the same attitude of attacking everybody else that criticise your work, as trolls, flamers and closed mind people (which doesn't help in avoiding attracting flamers) You and Egomancer have the same ability to attract flames (no it s not because you are defending mourning, is the WAY you are defending it, like a fanboy).
For someone that wanted to write a professional review, it is a bit sad that you cannot manage the flamers with good arguments and prefer to use even worst language against them (you need to fight flames with water not with fuel) You know already that you were going to have grief about this subject, yet, you weren't prapered for it. You gave the perfect flamebait and you kept adding fuel to the fire. You are no better than any other flamers in this forum, and certainly you are in no position to patronise people.
Once again, I will change my mind on the game, when in the Mourning forum people will stop posting negative feedback about the game. I am not interested in your stupid review, even less when it is done by an arrogant failed writer that after 2.5 hours play pretent to know everything about a game and gives scores that equal and surpass WoW and Guild Wars(at least in the more relevant features), and on top of this, he cannot accept or cannot manage people critising his so called "review".
I tried to criticise your review in the most decent way, I was trying to explain to you , that this is not the way to write a review, in a forum full of critics, I was trying to be helpful in a way. But you are perfect and you ve done nothing wrong apparently, the other people are just mindless idiots.
So from now on I will be less careful on my replies, and I will have a bit of fun too. So you can call me flamer with reason. If you want to keep feeding us with your partial opinion about this game, please go on, be my guest. I will follow your review with trepidation.
PS: By the way your style reminds me of Spoonbender the ex-mod of Mourning forum, am I wrong?
What amuses me more than anything is why it seems as if some people seem to have such a vendetta against the game. I do know several of them are very active on the Dark and Light boards, but is DnL really in such bad shape that they are afraid of this game?
I have not bought Mourning myself, although I admit that I check the boards over there every day or so and it seems just judging from the posts of the people who are playing that the Devs are doing some good work in fixing the game.
I tend to do a mental correction on others opinions, tending to toss out mentally the extreme positive and negative attitudes. From experiance I have found that generally the truth lies somewhere in the middle.
So come on flamers now flame me for scoffing at your over the top hate replies just as I ignore the over the top fanbois posts.

No flames at all, I agree with you What I am trying to explaing is that Zaxtor review is way over the top therefore unreliable, the same way as the too negative posts. I would accept a score of 55-60% which for this game is quite positive, considering the devs are still working hard to fix the bugs. But 78%? C'mon........ 60% is a good base to start with, since the game is still in progress and can only get better. At this rate, when the devs fix all the bugs this game will achieve a score of 150%. Few months ago this game would have been rated 20%, so 50-60% is already a good achievement, since there is still more to come.
To be honest I ve been trying to explain this comcept in all my posts. Positive or negative fanboysm is bad for the reputation of a game. The truth stands in the middle. Agreed.
Comments

And why you should be more believeable now that you played 20 hours, after your rushed an early score?
Why should I believe you more than this guy?
redjunkopera:
Take it easy dude.
ste2000, I think the problem is that people have different definitions for a 'review'
---------------
MMORPG genre=trend=lots of subscriptions/bad games
Ste2000 -
That is absolutely not a review.
Have a great day.

I miss DAoC
Been in the game over 2 hours now, but unfortunately have to go to work.
I will say this, Zaxtors review is not right, It should be about a 88% scrore, not a 78%
By far the best $20 game I have ever bought, regardless of the things not yet working.
This game is better then EQ2, Lineage 2 and blows Horizons away.
Can't wait to get off work and get back in and play some more!
Later, Haters. Enjoy your hating of a game while I enjoy it! LOL'z!
This kind of "partial" reviews don't help the cause of Mourning, it just make it worse (just read your "review" after a week and you will realise that it is way over the top and it looks made by a fanboy)
Your post looks exactly the opposite of a post made by someone that hates Mourning.
So I am very open to objective reviews, as long they are more facts based and less based on your opinion.
In the end I don't know you, you might be or not be a fanboy, how would I know?
By keeping your review a bit more sombre, you could have avoided this dilemma, and you could have made your review more believeable.

I have no intention of playing Mourning. That game has problems I don't want to deal with.
But I don't know which of two things I find more appaling. That a member of this website took the time to provide information about his experience with a game, and all these good for nothing board jockies flamed him for it.
Or that the excuse for moderation this website has let them.
This website is quickly getting a reputation for being a safe haven for flamers and trolls who have been kicked off the boards of every other website in the gaming industry.

Your beef is with those who bash the game that have not yet played it - do not confuse it with those of us that have been following the community for months and DO happen to know what we're talking about when it comes to the legitimate complaints towards Mourning's management.
What you have in common with him is the same attitude of attacking everybody else that criticise your work, as trolls, flamers and closed mind people (which doesn't help in avoiding attracting flamers)
You and Egomancer have the same ability to attract flames (no it s not because you are defending mourning, is the WAY you are defending it, like a fanboy).
For someone that wanted to write a professional review, it is a bit sad that you cannot manage the flamers with good arguments and prefer to use even worst language against them (you need to fight flames with water not with fuel)
You know already that you were going to have grief about this subject, yet, you weren't prapered for it.
Unbelievable sten..
That's all I can say of your attitude.
---------------
MMORPG genre=trend=lots of subscriptions/bad games
I miss DAoC
No flames at all, I agree with you
What I am trying to explaing is that Zaxtor review is way over the top therefore unreliable, the same way as the too negative posts.
Agreed.
