What you mean by "trainer area?"  Are you talking about Pre-Ascalon (before the Searing)?  If it is, I left there on lvl 8 but you can leave at lvl 3 if you want.

Totally depends on your own style. I had  char leaving with level 9 and a char that left with level 5. I have seen ppl leaving with level 2 and 3, so really, it's your own decision.

If you have friends that play as well, you can leave early and just team with them and do missions in Old Ascalon and so on.

The only thing you should do is to find all the trainers possible to get as many skills as you can.

My opinion would be 6-7. 8 (or above ofcourse) felt little too much. The first areas felt a little frustrating because of the damn devourers, who really don't give any exp or items at that point. I tried lvl6 with my ranger and it felt quite more better.

There are at least 6 levels of easy quests around the pre sear ascalon. Why not take advantage of them and do them?

i say no later than level 6.

i left at level 6, and now i am at yak's bend at level 13. i would have preferred to be around 10 or 11 at this point.

i really hate the idea of getting to level 20 when i haven't even finished 50% of the story. hopefully the expansions will raise the level cap

Totally agree, the level cap should be pushed further. I made level 20 last night and I still have 2 1/2 complete unexplored lands, areas however you want to call them.

And yes, level 5-6 is a pretty good level to leave and I couldn't agree more on the devourers!

  • i was lvl 8 with my Necromancer/Warrior when i left, im at Lion's Arch now and im lvl 15

The first time around I'd suggest leaving no SOONER than when you complete all the quests and find your skill trainers in pre-searing.

After that? Levels 3-5 are probably the best. The henchmen in Post-Searing are level 3, so that's what I'd recommend as the low. If you're too far above them they seem like even more of an encumberence, so that'd be why I said level 5 as the max.

Heck, one of my favorite activities was running a friend's level 3 trader (Vault expansion, basically.. and.. level 5 by the time we got there) to Lion's Arch. Took about an hour. Of course, I wouldn't suggest fighting there much at level five.. (unless you're with just hench. Don't drag real people down!) but it's kind of amusing to just be there.
