US or EU server for UK

I know I should pick EU for less latency and more English players, but as an English-only speaking person, I tend to stick with US servers, since it means a greater amount of English speakers.

Germany, France and other parts of the EU vastly out-number the number of English players, but I heard that there was a problem with latency lag regardless of the server you choose.

Would the lag be so bad as to make the game unplayable, or should I just stick with the EU server and try to find a good group of other English speakers?

Thanks for reading.

Both servers are in the US, EU will move to Europe at some point in the future.

Language wise.. I've seen very little non-English speak in global channels beyond the odd guild recruitment message. And whilst the non-UK population of the EU server may be the greater, the fact that everyone is on the same server means there are still thousands of UK people on the EU server to play with.

But hey, if you really want to play with a majority English speaking population, the US server is right there. Remains to be seen how latency is going to affect endgame content though, input lag is already an issue for some people.

Major consideration is time zone differences.

If you want to group then nominally the EU server will be better. There are however EU folk on the US server - partly because there was only one server during the beta testing and partly because "super serious" guilds will probably have members in both the EU and the US.

Factor in the stability issue - the EU server has been "better" and you probably want to start on the EU server.

I have done the different time zones - both ways, EU from US, US from EU - and basically it encourages you to play on a server "close" to your time zone.

EU server has a far better community. If you've ever seen someone online complain about the community in a game and thought "I don't get that at all," it's likely because you're on an EU server.
