Dark and Light E3 trailer #1

Its a short trailer that tells you a story of a young hero that seeks adventure. It shows a pretty big battle, and for so far I can tell the game engine runs pretty smooth with so many players fighting eachother. Too bad they dint show any cool magic :(

PS: This is the low quality version, they announced that they will upload better quality soon! :D

    Very nice. image

Only thing that bothered me was the 'skating' when characters were running into battle in the end.

Fantastic environments... the huge view distance is really noticable here... its nice to see a big battle, and the bodies left behind.

I must admit I got into that little story, hope to see the next installments, that very last scene with the lady morning over a grave and the mountains in the background, made me think of Middle Earth  image

So ah...why is everyone so excited over this game? That video was pretty boring. Let's see, we got to see some lame combat between a dodo and a centuar...YAY! About 4/5 of the video was showing this guy running to and fro. At the end we were treated to a large battle, which looked like little fireworks were going off everywhere! It looks as if whenever someone hits another person with their weapon, they do a little magic with it too. LOL! Yeah, this game looks like it may be fun, but really, what is the big deal?

Graphics and far vision. I mean the battle did look somehwat realistic. Game looks fun and armor customization looks unreal from what it seems.

It's the dynamics and creativity of the game system that make the game interesting. The graphics are par for the course and the storyline isnt anything special. Players will play a large role in making the game fun. If its just a bunch of wtfpwning pvp then its not going to be anymore fun than L2 or WoW. They still have some significant hurdles to overcome, hence the delay in launch, the one server no zoning is a challenging aspect to deal with while overcoming the lag involved. Right now i don't see the game being released and being functional with current technology. If they do manage to get it out by years end and actually succeed in making a zoneless world i'll be very very surprised.. Personally i think they'll either go multi world and limit populations or else its vaporware.

That was pretty lame when the dodo died. It fell to the ground instantly, it didnt swindle or anything, it didnt even show the frames of it falling. Then, the narrator was major geekage and the environments had no creatures except the ones that attacked him. The fields were empty. His armor wasnt very detailed nor was his sword or his wooden shield.
    Yuck.

Even I have to admit, those environments were pretty amazing. That game must be huge.

Yeah that death was pretty sad. Notice the lag too and you know that was probably on an empty server. I'd hate to see the lag between killing a monster and it's death animation on a crowded server. I won't be too harsh on them though, it is only still in beta.

I'm looking forward to the other Chapters to this story to see other new game features.

And yes the environments are incredable... here is last years E3 trailer http://www.darkandlight.net/videos/E3_Trailer_lowdef.avi  so you can see even more... also it shows many other forms of "transport" image

That Dodo death animation was crap, but as far as lag, when watching the large battle that had a few hundred warriors, there was no lag. Also a nice feature was the bodies left on the field, it appears the engine can handle large numbers fighting as well as bodies, which is cool.
