so at least 262500 copies were sold (you can make 8 chars / account)
I know we have this threads, but now we have some numbers.
I guess they´ve sold around 1 Million copies.

yeah i can see 1.5 million box's being sold so far. Figure theres some bought it just to see what was up, probably havent hit 10 yet, some who are extreme casual doing the same.
Seems legit.
The Deep Web is sca-ry.
So the API is not open enough to allow tracking of your own buffs/timers but can provide detailed account information to a TP addon?
That seems very legit.
Those numbers are not true and doesn't reflect population. There are several factors involved here, including the fact that not everyone does PvP or goes to Cyrodiil. I have been playing since early access and haven't been to Cyrodiil and I would not be surprised if the majority of the player base hasn't been to Cyrodiil.
With that said I would expect 1 - 1.5 million in PC sales so far. With consoles I expect the number to jump to 2.5 million within 6 months. The market is so damn competitive to get SWTOR type of sales especially for subscription MMOs.
Dunno what game you are playing, I have an addon that tracks buffs and timers just fine.

I really don't understand why people need an add-on or some statistic to replace their own eyes...
If you launch the game and all you see are NPCs and bots... does it really matter that Zenimax or some statistic claims 1 gazillion people are playing?
Trust your eyes... God gave them to you for a reason.... of course he gave us all a brain too and we all know how that worked out.
Really?
An unsupported, unofficial 3rd party app says so.........and now it's gospel?
What's next?
Yea, next thing you know people will be saying VGchartz is legit! Oh wait...

I would be surprised if ESO sold that few copies. Didn't they say the imperial edition sold out or something to that extent?
Keeping the numbers for other ES games in mind they should be moving a few million copies at least.
Except they get their numbers from retailers...
a small % of retailers, and they don't include digital copies or those who bought directly from ZOS.

If they sold 1 million coppies then ZOS would be bragging about it. They wanted to brag about how many people signed up for beta.
TES is not ESO.
VGChartz is just as bad as a source as this addon. VGChartz stated that Reaper of Souls sold 500k copies, when Blizzard stated it sold more then 3 million. Take all numbers that isn't official with a grain of salt.
And where's the "ultimate authority" numbers ?
Haven't seen a "X-Fire thread" in this forum for a while, but then again I've been kinda busy in ESO lately...
EDIT: Forget it.
Also, VGChartz does provide a great deal on info for physical pre-orders, but don't track digital. But even then, some are missing.
EDIT- Boxsnd, not true. The most important part for any video game is to recover production costs. This was the fundemental problem with BW's TOR and FC's TSW.
ESO as been said to cost over a hundred million (some say 200M like TOR), but no source as been provided. If true however, the game would need to seel 1.2 milliom Imperial editions, atleast, just to recover.
I forgot to take the first couple of months in terms of subs, but still, boxes are important.
ITT: People who don't understand that box sales at release are almost irrelevant for a subscription MMO.

Funny, maybe I got that wrong but the last official statement I read around the time of API furore stated that target buffs were not going to be trackable via the API....like I said I could be wrong.
Regardless, we are now holding up some amatuer coding addon as proof of population? Really?
But only because the number looks good amirite? If the number looked bad you would be slating it like you do VGZ and any other source that does not paint a pretty picture.
esostats.com The site tracks realm score and not realm population. It also displays last known active population with bars.
No developer on any release tell the subscription numbers until a month after release. It's been just over two weeks how about not jumping the gun [mod edit]
Perhaps the figures should have come with a disclaimer, "not to be taken seriously,m for entertainment purposes only" or something along that lines.
Doesn't prove anything, just fun to talk about.
