I voted staying but in reality I'm just giving it one extra month . There are a lot of issues in the game that need to be resolved that I find irksome . The public dungeons are overcrowded and bots just sit around camping the bosses for loot ( problem can be seen here in this video at 23.00  ) . Werewolves and Vampires are also beening camped by bots so no one can get bitten . A lot depends on how much I enjoy the pvp but I suspect once I hit 50 I will be gone until such time they sort out the public dungeons and bots .

I don't quite know where I will go too . I will probably just resume playing TSW , GW2 , Rift and Lotro . All of which offer just as much enjoyment for me as TESO does without the monthly fee ( i have a lotro lifetime subscription ,Rifts free to play model is really good and TSW and GW2  are buy to play ) . I also still havn't played thought Skyrim and I keep asking myself why would I want to pay monthly for TESO when I have that to play because a lot of TESO feels like a single player game .

Not sure about Wildstar yet if the optimization improves I might try it . So that probably leaves Archeage later in the year which will be free to play and hopefully will have Trions generous free to play system .

I do still prefer the subscription model in many ways but it has to be worth it and for it to be worth it to me is that there would have to be a generous amount of new content every couple of months to stay long term . Which is pretty much impossible for developers to keep up with .

well it looks like the retention rate of 30% is the same for mmorpg.com posters it looks like.   34% so far with 275 votes.

Whats the thing about the "gold seller" the last time I recieved an ingame mail or message or even saw them in chat was like 5 days ago. Seems they can't enter cyrondil with their level 1 to spam.

I find the people 'surprised' (much like this post) about how much ESO sucked are the worst kind of people. The type of person that really have no clue what the hell they want and are the reason for such crap constantly being regurgitated back into the mouths of the MMORPG community.

    Grats tards on buying ESO.

Pre-grats on buying Wildstar and AA as well.

We can expect more garbage to keep being made cause you idiots keep buying it.

Enough said These people jump on and roll out the hype train for this garbage and then wonder how come mmo's suck now. The genre is so full of garbage games and Wildstar will be one of them. And non of them have a clue or can even remember that they all have been here many times when a new game comes out. The genre is just no good anymore. It was better pre wow because devs would try to come up with something different. But once wow started making that crazy money everything changed. The only chance for a good game will have to come from a small indi company or something like that. Right now the genre has stalled.

Hmm looks like you are worried that your prophecy about 10 million subs before end of the year might not come true?

And i don't understand what wildstar type means. Majority of gamers try all kind of MMOS.

I'm definitely not worried, in fact, I hit my mark on the projected path to 10 million subs.   PC sold 1.6 million - 3.2 million copies.  I predicted PC at 2-3 million so that was pretty much on the mark.   We just have to wait for consoles now which I predicted 3-4 million copies.

I also predicted the retention rate at 60% if they keep their game updated with content every 4-6 weeks.   However the bugs seems to be mildly hurting the retention rate...  so Idk what the end result will be with the bugs, botters and goldsellers,  It might reduce the grand total (but not more then 1 million), but we have to find out by how much first.   I guess it all depends on consoles launch also.

As far as Wildstar type of people. I mean just that, the people who like Wildstar type games, and this can only help ESO if that many Wildstar type players are trying this game, question is, how many would actually stay long term, probably not a lot.  Just the fact that a lot of Wildstar genre type people playing this game means it can only help the numbers of subs for ESO, who knows, maybe enough to make up for the lost retention of players to bugs.

Sorry bud that still doesn't bring the number even close to 10 million subs.

3 million PC and 4 million console sales still makes total of 7 million in total sales and even with 60% retention rate you are still not touching that number.

I think its time to let go off that dream and be reasonable and realistic.

EQN , wildstar , skyforge , bless , black desert and swordsman (and some are waiting on AA2)

ESO will be lucky to have 4 million players next year this time even though a few mentioned wont be out of beta by then . wouldn't be surprised if zenimax pulled a old blizzard trick and claimed more accounts than they actually have or simply count inactive accounts that no longer have a sub . so they might say they for 7 mil next year this time but it will probably be more like 4 mil tops

Is this like a reverse troll? Like you try to talk down ESO by claiming it will have 4 million subs?

If ESO had 4 million subs (really really unlikely) that would actually be impressive. If ESO even manages to maintain 1 million over 3 platforms, it will be impressive. I don't see it doing too well on consoles unless console gamers suddenly warm up to subscription based games.

Best case scenario imo is if ESO settles into the 500k sub mark and slowly builds itself up. Worst case scenario is that it goes F2P and inventories get slashed to 40 slots and it costs $10 to buy 10 slots, each account is limited to 1 character, additional slots are $5, only one race from each faction is available for free, it costs $10 per race unlock. All of a sudden that free game costs $150 to get what you have as standard at $60.

    Anyway, no 4 million.

Totally staying. Im Vet 7 now, still having a blast, and absolutely loving PVP. I tried Wildstar, its just not for me. Its not a bad game by any means, and Im sure there are tons of folks who will love it, I just wont be one of them.

I will say I do plan to play Archeage as well. But seeing as its free, I wont be putting any money into it ( I think Founders Packs for any game are just silly, why would I pay for something thats free??) Anyways, I will most likely use AA just to fool around in, since I can have a house/farm and I like the crafting in AA better than ESO, mostly because of the diversity, not because of the crafting system. Also, since it wont be coming out until this fall sometimes (probably Aug/Sept) that will be about 6 months of ESO for me, and lets face it, MMOs these days are lucky to get 6 months, most dont make it 3 months for players before they move on. And I will still be in Cyrodill, Im not quiting completely.

Now for EQ Next (not Landmark), I will most likely quit both above titles. Everquest was my first MMO, and I love Norrath, cant wait to get back to it. I do have Landmark now, but its only a shell of a game, although after playing it, it has only made me more excited to see those system put into a real MMORPG like Next. Also, since its at least a year away, it would be crazy for anyone to say they are leaving "any MMO" right now for Next, what the hell would you do for the next year? It should be at least 6 months after AA so that still leaves plenty of time for people to tire of it before moving to the next game, like everyone seems to do now.

Staying. I'm playing both ESO and SWtoR and like both quite a bit. I may have to quit one when AA comes out.I can do 3 MMOs at one time.

I will be going to ArcheAge. This was my plan from the start. I have spent some time playing the Russian version to see what the game was about and its the closest thing to the Lineage 2 type mmos that I like. Will probaly be buying one of the founders packs soon.

As for Elder Scrolls Online I will say that it is the one of the best themeparks on the market but those types of games have never been my thing. To the people that are staying I say have fun and enjoy because it really is a great game.

Seriously, take a pill. This is a hobby; peeps want game time, and a variety. We HAVE a variety, and we're discussing the best choices to spend our time.

OP: going to leave, then likely come back when things get patched up. I expect the learning curve the devs are experiencing will less'n. Also, head'n back to W*, cautiously optimistic, BUT I have no delusions that it will be the perfect experience.

Subbing for 1 month.  That should be enough for me to finish the game.  Then on to Wildstar.  The betas were amusing enough and the PVE endgame looks pretty cool.

Then....Archeage.  The super basic tab-target combat style is questionable, but I'll try it and maybe the sandboxy features will be enough to distract from the generic themepark side of it.  This is assuming it actually gets released in NA anytime soon.  Trion says this year but I can't help but think....December is this year and I don't worry to much about games until we're a month out.

And...lol at Swtor pvp being balanced and bug free.  Must be why I keep getting nasty /say messages about being a hacker on my Assassin.

    Subbed for six months.

Anyone who believes that ESO is in bad shape for a launch MMO from a new studio simply does not remember any MMO launch in history.  Even in its current form I'd rather play ESO than any other MMO I've ever played.  But feel free to tell me I'm wrong and my opinion sucks.

Played time was only in beta, was a total of 80+ hr played time. Loved the game for many reasons, megaserver and how you can tailor your spells. But didnt buy the game because of how it worked out teaming. I dont think the phased crap will go away so Im on my way to Wildstar thats not instanced and you can run from one end of the game to another and not find any loading screens unless you jump into a battleground or instanced dungeon or your housing =-) If that fails me or not, I will be trying EQN because my first MMO love was EQ1 =-)
