$20 Value. Then why the heck would I pay $50?
So I know some people will say the Glider etc is what costs money. But since when did the actual currency start being butchered down in a founders pack? You pay $50 to support the game before it's out. I risk my Money I get perks for it. But now their full out selling Beta Access. This is not oh Pre-Order the game get Beta. This is Pre-Buy Beta and get a few Credits.
This kind of thinking is what EA has been doing and ruining the F2P Market. Trion is now doing the same. How can they even be allowed to do this? Oh right everyone will forget in a week.

How is this "ruining the F2P market?" You mean the "market" where developers don't get any money?
Why aren't you celebrating that some other dudes are helping fund a game you want to play?
Well, you're not just getting 2500 credits for the $50. So you can look at it from a couple of different ways. You're paying $20 for the 2500 credits and then another $30 for beta access, head start time, the title, 30 day patron time and the experimental glider. You could also view it as a $70 value, for $50 (if you add the 2500 credits to the overall cost).
Either way, you know exactly what you're getting with the overall cost, which for today's standards, it's pretty good. Other companies typically charge $60 for a base package and something like this would be more like $70.
So what you guys are saying is that TESO and most other MMORPG's are amazing good sale and that Trion is in the good here :P I mean they sell the game for $40-$50 depending if you get 10-25% off on the sale since most them are retail. They come with month of play, most them come with Beta. Then all the extras for a Pre-order meaning their game would be actually free.
And did you just say $30 for Beta? That is a joke right? You can't just out right sell a beta. It must be a free bonus ontop of a paid feature sure that is fine. But you can't just turn this into an age of paid Beta's. Because in 2-3 years all MMORPG's will be $50 for beta nothing else not even the game.
Your standards keep slipping and slipping. This is how our world works and politics works. We take a bit at a time and just consider it normal and normal till there is nothing left.

Swear to god this founder pack issue is a smaller scale recreation of listening to the 2 party retards in my country argue about their politics. one side: "OMG Poor people suck, and only the rich are important" other side: "OMG only rich people do shitty things, and the poor people are dying!" In the end, no one can just be fucking nice to each other. Smart ass little comments, snide remarks and jabs.
I wonder if those people railing against those who have issues with the price always argue against their best interest? Nothing bad can come out of them lowering the price other then the little bit of self importance you bought yourself today would feel a little less important. Try to find importance outside of video games and you will see why spending 150 dollars on alpha doesn't make you a rich person, or a better person. It just makes you a person who makes bad decisions with money.

You are right, why should we pay for the beta. + it is just 30 days patron access and 4 day head start. The glider is experimental as the name says it. Does not mean you will keep it after and again not enough to get 50$ .
The way i see it with the patron access etc. It will be similar to RIFT free to play style. So why give 50$ i will just wait till release and get full access, the mount can be farm easy and if that one not available who cares, just a mount anyways there will be a bunch other available.
The most funny thing i have ever seen 50$ to beta test a game, rofl. Some have money to burn it seems.
So what do you think they should do? Give out a random amount of beta keys for free and then idiots sell it for $50 instead? and the company makes nothing? Why not support the company to help them to keep the content rolling and to make sure we have a finished game that the players who supported the game had a say in certain things to help produce a decent game.
Tons of F2P games have been using the Founder Packs for awhile now. They mostly start them up in beta. This time they wanted some people to get some access to Alpha as well.
You get subscription time which is $15, currency $20, random other stuff probably $5, plus beta access.
Pretty much, don't buy it. Most people will not be buying it. At least this is better than the Trove nonsense they pulled, but it is still extremely shady practices. They build up the hype after paying people to stream the game, and then threw this founder's pack right after.
Let the hype settle down, let them announce a release date and then if you want to make your decision. Do not do it before then.
They seriously could have just come out and said, ok guys, just subscribe and you can play and I would have as it would show me they are at least striving for a quality product, but this.....been down this road many times and it's a shame to see this awesome looking game not getting more quality treatment.
I don't think it's really a question of wanting to support the game as much as not wanting to support greedy tactics that will eventually cripple and ruin the game. Already a slippery slope and it hasn't even launched.
The only reason for the bottom teirs is to make the top teirs to appear to be a good value.
At least they aren't selling races or classes. That would be terrible.
IMO you should use your head - What Beta? - to test spelling mistakes? Trion isn't a developer they are a Publisher, they shouldn't be asking Money to test a game that was already released.

That's when you say "Thanks but no thanks", and head to WildStar, which will probably be the only decent / good release of 2014 in the MMO world.
Archeage is amazing. i play russian servers atm. ive bought the 50$ founders pack just because i like the game and would like the 4 day headstart, i have no interest in beta or alpha since im on russian till then.
Honestly who cares if they sell founders pack. it`s just smart business. nobody is forcing you to spend your $.

Oh i know why, because i work for a living, and in my free time i play MMO's. I like to invest in MMO's that to me look decent and have original ideas, to me AA fits this bill.
Since i have the disposable income in my budget to spend it the way i see fit, i bought the $150 founders pack.
No where did i feel compelled to do this, no where was i forced at gun point to "Waste" my hard earned money.
Does Trion need this money ? nope i doubt it, will it help them get AA out to the public faster then if i had not purchased this ? Nope.
Does it give me value for the $150 bucks? Yes for me it does.
No where does it say that if you do not buy a founders pack you will never ever play AA. But, you will not get to play it till release then.
Its a simple fact that if you cannot afford the Founders pack, you will be able to afford the game when it releases, so you will need to wait, or save the cash. Whining on forums about it will not change any of this, it will only make you look like a whiner.

The ingame money is only $20 worth. But you have to take into acount that your also getting 30 days of patron and that will probly be a $15 value there if they go with the standard prices. So thats what. $35 then your looking at a glider that could be worth $2.50 to $5 depending on material costs, labor costs, ect. it takes to make a equal value glider.
So your really looking at something like $10 to get a granteed beta slot and 4 days early access.
4 Days head start is huge in archeage where land plots are going to be taken up really fast and there is a very limited number of slots and always more players then number of slots.
Would you expect them to give you $49.99 worth of credits? Seeing as currency can purchase ingame game time and items that can all be traded to other players for ingame currency ala eve online style.
In my language we got a term for what Trion is doing here:

You can spend 150, support the game, get some cool stuff and start playing tonight if you wish.
Or you can wait till it comes out and play for FREE.
Why people are so worried how other people spend there money is beyond me.
Even one step further how can this make someone mad, I do not even get it, if you do not want to spend money you should be thanking the players who will spend it so you can play.
