Well my wife just purchased this for me for my B-day, so i am super excited waiting for it to finish DLing. DL servers seems to be slow or swamped... 120k a sec.
So who else got this 150.00 founders pack and are as excited as me ?
Me! It took a few hours because the download speed kept changing but eventually, it sped up.
My first impressions were very positive! I'm going to enjoy this!
Love that there is a "Jail system" in place. If you commit too many crimes, you are sentenced by your peers whom will decide how long you spend in jail.

Yeah! Played a bit last night and was in awe a lot of the time... not a huge fan of the quests early on, but I understand it's more for training and what not. The tree climbing and ladder climbing was neat though and the mount quest was cool. I found a Steve Jobs monument near the ocean with a half eaten apple at it's base- that was neat. Speaking of ocean, holy crap the water and underwater views have got to be some of the best in any game... really impressive.
The class system is a bit much for an altaholic like myself, but I will research what I want to do most.
Anyone know what a good level is to make it to and quit to get a feel for most of the tutorial stuff like farming, etc.? I'm not really interested in playing much of Alpha, I just wanted to perks and to check it out a little.

Why you letting them steal our money to play alpha,beta etc ? They should pay us to test their games before it will go live .

Maybe they want to support Trion and be part of their Alpha process.
Maybe they know that nothing is really free and if you don't support the companies that make/publish these games and just "play free" then these companies are going to be struggling.
Maybe they think the game and the "in game" currency are worth it (someone on another thread said it was $75.00 of in game perks?)
Free to play is not about "playing for free!
It's about free access and then paying for what you think is worth it to you. Additionally, for those who "don't wanna pay anything" your game is subsidized by the people who have no problem paying the lions share (or whale's share) of the cost.

While yes it is a F2P game, in order to farm and own land you need to be a Patron, which either costs in-game money or you can pay for it with real $. I'd rather pay for that with $ and worry about other things with my in-game money like taxes and what not.
I like collectors items like cloaks and junk, plus the glider, yadda yadda.
MMO genre changed with F2P. People wanted it and they got it. For most games that are F2P I pass, but this one I won't and I have no problem paying money for added benefits.

Picked it up the moment I heard about it. Not a single regret. I really like the 3 months of patron as well. Also, something I read is that with this access - I think we'll still be able to access the servers, even when beta events are not going on.

How often is the Alpha server available? The Alpha server is generally available 24/7 when Beta Events are not running. Updates and maintenance generally run 2-4 hours, and can run longer in major version updates to the game. We will always do our best to keep you informed as to downtimes. Since this is Alpha, please understand that problems will happen! These problems may include downtimes, rollbacks, and problems with game data that cannot be fixed. We will endeavor to not wipe the Alpha server, but with an Alpha there are no guarantees.
im a sucker , its a bit steep but screw it been waiting ..anywho trying to buy all day to no avail . every form of payment not working seems like that don't want my money . lots of people willing to dish out the funds and getting no where

Talked about the $150 offer w/ the wife and my daughter, who often plays games w/ me, and they told me I should go ahead and spend the $150 and get AA now.
i picked up a founders pack myself,but sadly have been plagued by this loading problem and cannot even access the game. Its driving me nuts cause i had no problem dropping the cash for the game. I am very Jelly of all you guys that are in game already tooling around.
I had some problems 'loading' the client. When it first said it was done, it froze for about 2 min, and then started downloading information again. It did this 2 or 3 times. Downloaded a bit, looked done, froze, and started a new download. But I waited it out, and eventually it finished.... Maybe you're just not waiting long enough?

I had a problem with the game crashing at loading screen, then ran it as administrator and it was fine , you could try that.
I would totally buy this but the open PvP I'm not good at PvP and I prefer optional PvP so I will not be getting this but it does look like an awesome game .A sandbox everyone has been clamouring for.

The game CAN be f2p, however, there are many MANY benefits to paying the sub....
If I had $150 laying around, I'd be playing....

Lol. I'm waiting to see what the cash shop entails. If a patron doesn't have to even think about the cash shop, I'll be subbing and won't look back.

As I have said in other threads, I bought the Archeum $150 pack and so far do not regret it one bit. I really think the game is awesome so far!
Not sure why other people feel a need to impose their ideas on others but some of it is jealousy plus personal outrage over the pricing.
