Unity Web Player Help Request

I can not get Unity Web Player to install and work.  I've never had this problem before, but now when I come across a Unity game online I get the "Unity Web Player: Install Now" icon where the game should be.  I download it, it acts like it is installing, it shows itself in programs as installed, but when I go back the the game I get the same message.

• I'm coming here as a last resort after a few days of messing with it.
• I'm on Windows 7 (64 Bit), getting same results with Chrome and IE
• I've tried uninstalls, restarting, etc.  All the obvious stuff and much searching for answers.

I'm more frustrated with the desire to solve the problem than the problem itself at this point.  So, I'm willing to entertain any helpful ideas.  And thanks!
