In general I'm enjoying the game and had originally planned to get level up 4 characters one of each class split over the three factions . But as I'm getting into it there are things about the game I don't like .
1) Public dungeons . These would be fun and challenging but they are overcrowded all the time with people farming mobs . I think they should have a limited amount of people in each one . Maybe 5-10.
2)Lack of auction house . It sounds like a good idea to have trade guilds but in practice its burdensome .
3) not being able to help your friends on quests you have already completed . A friend of mine was having a problem with a quest but when I went to help her all I could see was an arrow running around .
4) bots and exploiters . because of the way the public dungeons have been designed you get lots of bots farming the dungeon boss for drops . Sometime its hard to even get a shot in on it because its killed so quickly . I would also consider people who are farming these bosses using an exploit . It ruins immersion . Also bots are camping Vampire and Werewolf spawning areas so its virtually impossible for people to get bitten unless you pay a scammer .
I'm still planning to play till level 50 which will probably take a second month but after that I think I will be quitting until such time as they deal with these issues . (I could overlook the lack of the auction house though if they fix the other 3 listed ) . The bugs in the game don't really bother me as long as they aren't too frequent and so far I've not come across one that can't be fixed by re logging my character in fact I expect them on a launch . I will be quite happy to come back if they sort these things out but as it at the moment its not worth a monthly fee to me long term .

Yeah I wouldn't mind smaller scale pvp options too .
PVP XP
Don't really care about anything in the game but the pvp. And I enjoy the PVP a lot.
Just not gonna grind out quests for 200235+ hours to do it.
edit: They probably will eventually fix the xp issue though. When they do i'll resub no doubt as long as it happens before something else comes along I like more.
Another way to level, especially the 1-10 veteran lvls.
It completly destroys any immersion this game has to play all faction quest lines with one character plus I personally refuse to do it.
The quests are mind numbingly boring.
To put it simply I am bored.
I enjoy pvp for the moment but I don't plan to advance beyond veteran lvl 1.
Somebody, somewhere has better skills as you have, more experience as you have, is smarter than you, has more friends as you do and can stay online longer. Just pray he's not out to get you.
I prefer extensive open world pvp myself . I guess they would have to offer a choice of two mega servers one for pvp and one for pve . I've not yet tried the pvp but as with lotro I think it could get boring after a while if its just in one area .
Somebody, somewhere has better skills as you have, more experience as you have, is smarter than you, has more friends as you do and can stay online longer. Just pray he's not out to get you.
I would need them to delete every item and all the gold that was acquired through duping, as well as any items that were upgraded with duped materials.
I can't stand the idea that there are a number of people running around with full legendary equipment in Cyrodiil, when it would have taken a thousand+ hours to manage that normally.
Good question! And also an easy one for me:
Get those three things done and ill sub right away. Not even joking here.
MMOs finally replaced social interaction, forced grouping and standing in a line while talking to eachother.
Now we have forced soloing, forced questing and everyone is the hero, without ever having to talk to anyone else. The evolution of multiplayer is here! We won,... right?
In order for me to keep playing, The game would need a way better grouping support for pve. More to do then just questing and pvp. Right now all there is, is questing or pvp and thats all you have.
There is no housing, no farming, nothing other then quests and pvp.
The Vet grind killed it for me. 1-50 was pretty good, I enjoyed the stories and dungeons. Grouping was a massive pain in the ass due to phasing and poor implementation of the quest sharing system.
PvP is ok, it's mostly zerg vs zerg, take resources and keeps, rinse and repeat.
Crafting is horrid. Well, maybe not horrid but no thought put into it at all. No cooperation required between crafters (not talking about trading crafted daggers for deconstruct XP, I'm talking about not needing any components from clothiers to make shields or armor, etc etc.
Guild Stores and no AH is horrible.
A lot of things they did in this game sound good in theory but in practice they make no sense and detract from the game.
While I agree that you should gain VR experience through different game systems I do not want it to be so easy that it cheapens the system itself. I think some element of grinding needs to be prevalent in an MMO to give some longevity especially for a subscription game. If the game just gives you VR levels then you're not incentivized as much as if you were to earn it.
As for small scale PvP, you knew going in that PvP was not a mini-game and as such was meant to be a broad persistent war. If you need that insta-action PvP might I suggest playing the many hundreds of nonsensical, un-immersive game style of Battleground PvP.
Sandbox means open world, non-linear gaming PERIOD!
Subscription Gaming, especially MMO gaming is a Cash grab bigger then the most P2W cash shop!
Bring Back Exploration and lengthy progression times. RPG's have always been about the Journey not the destination!!!
"4) bots and exploiters . because of the way the public dungeons"
I just reported 10+ yes 10 last night in Inner Sea Dungeon. Today those were gone yet 10+ right back and now even others running back and forth in the same pattern killing. Then seeing even more out side standing in one stop killing a ghost NPC over and over and over. There is NOTHING in place to stop this.
What bothers me why did we know this was going to happen but they didnt? There not that stupid. We read the threads before launch "bot and gold sellers heaven" and look it IS!
This is really the only part that bothers me and made me quit today. When I cant get that silly achievement in the solo dungeons. Its every dungeon. ESO was and is very nice. People here and other places expect you to keep bending over and taking it. I cant and then when ESO says very nicely "please dont cancel yet we understand for even I have seen this so we dont expect you to put up with this".
They said "give us two days" this was on the 26th. I did cancel yet I still have 8 days left to play. So lets see if they can stop this.
So this..if they fix this will I come back? In a heart beat. Yes after 50 then going back to the other zones I made toons on and REDOING all that over again .. yeah pass.
I do read over and over that grouping is not fun. Its messed up. Dungeons (4 man) really needs work.
Love the game..
5-10 people in a public dungeon kinda takes away the point with them. It would be better to add more rooms in the dungeons then. 25 or so I could understand but it is better to make the dungeons instanced then limit them to 2 groups.
As for AH I am pretty certain that they will add one. Almost all players seems to want one. It might not be a traditional one and myself rather have player owned stores or similar but I would be very surprised if the game is without some kind of better trading system 6 months from now.
The questphasing is a lot harder to fix. They could add some mentoring system but it wouldn't work that great. It is far too intergrated in the game to just take it away now and would take a major overhaul of the game. I think you have to live with it like it is.
Bots and exploiters are common in any new MMO but usually get fixed after about 3 months.
Taking some time off during the summer is never really a bad idea anyways, go to a music festival and enjoy yourself IRL. While I do have found memories of playing MMOs the summer is precious and a time to do real stuff. There will soon be autumn and crap weather after all and I think ESO will be a far better game by then.
There is nothing immersive about the VR grind. The main story is over and you're ported to another Alliance to quest their 'start zones'. It completely breaks immersion after Coldharbour, rather abruptly too. Couple that with a detrimentally long leveling grind. It's a deception, that's all it is. There is nothing special about being a veteran except now you get to grind quests that belong to another alliance.
I don't think that's the issue, aside from some of the launch handling, the duping stuff, beta testing.
The complaints raised here are design decisions. Some of them were against the grain and risky, like no AH. In theory there are ways that could have worked out. Eg public dungeons - I'm sure they would work fine if there weren't overcrowded and farmed by bots everywhere.
Since the complaints are about things in the game that arise from conscious design decisions, like phasing, I do not think they will be changed ("fixed"). It's like asking GW2 to introduce a trinity. You will have to live with and like what you have now, or move on.
1. Either add a global AH or let us have store fronts. Guild only AH sucks.
2. As many have stated alternative leveling processes.
3. Net code optimization in AvA, i can play WvW in GW2 with huge zergs on all three sides, but i get slide shows with just small 1 on 1 grp clashes.
4. Take the top 5 or 10 most used addons and implement them as <<<READ>>> "options" a player can turn on (make there own versions).
5. HOUSING, or GUILDHALLS !
6. Darkness falls equivalent for AvA (http://camelotherald.wikia.com/wiki/Darkness_Falls <<for those who don't know>>)
7. Significantly lower horse costs or implement a quest that leads to horse ownership. (i do not need this since i got imperial edition but i feel it needs to be added for others, especially those who want to partake in AvA)
8. Increase initial bank space or make a separate bank slot for materials.
9. Craglorn should be for VR1-10 ranks only, and this should be a main leveling alternative for VR levels.
10. Make a team of 20+ volunteers / CSR's that only do one thing, police areas for Gold Spammers / Bots, and add in public humiliation for said spammer / bots.
11. Learn to better communicate with your player base, currently your worse than MMO devs from 10+ years ago.
I am sure there are tons more, but those are important to me to really feel like i could come back to this game, this will be one of the first MMO's in a long time that i did not devote at least 3 months before i threw in the towel. Maybe it was sooner but that had to be Cryptic's hero MMO Champion's Online... when i compare a game to that game ... its not good. Course anything made by Cryptic was just terrible, even if STO is a bit better than on release.
Lolipops !
seeing all those posts and what you want changed there is only one logical conclusion:
find another game. WoW maybe.
ESO is working fine. i hope they wont change too much.
seriously, if WoW is THAT bad, then why is it that you guys keep asking for it's features again and again and again?
if you copy all WoW features, you get a WoW clone. and no. we surely don't need another item grind game. we have those, my WoW acc is running for like 8 years now, and i dont see why anyone should copy WoW. that game is close to perfection in it's way, and if you like that way... well... play it?
"believe me, mike.. i calculated the odds of this working against the odds that i was doing something incredibly stupid and i did it anyway!"
I don't plan on leaving the game until 2-3 months from now minimum, but there's a few changes they could add to make me stay longer.
Firstly, all this complaining about the VR grind and not being able to level it in pvp is absurd. I leveled VR 1-10 in pvp in 1.75 weeks without touching pve. Secondly, the lag caused by large group invites and simply being in a large group is unacceptable for a large-scale pvp mmo. Thirdly, class balancing is an issue atm with the aoe and survivability of DK's in Cyrodiil. The idea that adding a target cap to aoe skills in general is the fix to this is stupid, and will be another thing that drives pvp'ers away.
Fourthly, there needs to be an incentive to small-scale pvp and not just zerging, don't get me wrong I love large-scale pvp but atm there's no reason to run around with less than 10. Instead of adding some garbage battleground/arena system simply reward people more points per kill the less people involved or something. Fifthly, consolidate campaigns, how a game that sold over a million copies fails to fill up a dozen US campaigns is beyond me but non-US TZ coverage is a problem. Lastly, there needs to be some serious and speedy additions/updates to Cyrodiil to prevent/counter-act the large amount of jumping ship happening from the pvp community in ESO atm.

I'll preface this with saying I am a huge Elder Scrolls fan and am sad that I don't like this game more. I've been on a roller-coaster with this one: first hating it when it was announced, intrigued by the changes (first-person), loving the game in the beta and at release, and now back to meh mode.
The game is just boring. The quests are boring. The voice acting is boring. I totally agree with Eurogamer, this game may have seemed like a good idea in 2007.
At first I thought if they got rid of the bots I would resub...but at this point I can't even play for more than 20 minutes before falling asleep. Is it too late to ask that they strip all the quests from the game and rewrite them from scratch?

Life sucks, buy a helmet.
I know this is not possible, but the OP queried what would cause me to come back: Redo the game as the equivalent of a Morrowind/Oblivion/Skyrim co-op game with GW1 style quest hubs and exclusive instances of the world. No waiting for boss campers; no loss of resource nodes to botters. Also, there would be a variety of pvp to participate in,
