If you catch someone selling or buying gold for real money, brand them so other people can recognise them in game, and take away most of their stats... And on top of that, allow people to kill them whenever they meet them
and for bots.... Make the game itselves fight them.. Add more dynamics to spawning points, and on top of that have a serverside program that detects botting.. And if the program detects bots it should spawn a big elite patrol near the botters, that kills the bots, and if the bots are intelligent, chases them trough the whole zone.. Non botting players should be smart enough to get out of the way of the patrolls...

Then ill brand you just for the kicks of it.
So if i run away from this "elite" it will chase me across the universe because, you know, thats what "intelligent" bots do?
They need to do something the game is no longer playable due to the bots, they are in dungeon, they are in the wild they are everywhere not giving a fuck.
We had a vent discussion last night about who subs and who leaves... most are leaving and the most used phrases included the words "bots" or "gold sellers" and so on...
Half the game is you enjoying the solo leveling experience with solo dungeons and all that... well that is ruined when you notice 10 bots waiting for every boss to spawn instantly killing it and so on.
I don`t get how this game can get even one positive review unless the reviewer is payed not to mention bots or bugs or exploits or broken mechanics...
You are not going to brand anyone...
they should have software detecting these abnormallities and branding people automatically
you can offcourse not leave a powerfull tool like this in the hands of the many children playing these games

I think it's amazing how every MMO has an issue with bots, yet not a single studio appears to even consider the fact when designing the game. They all act surprised by the fact that they hare having to rush to figure out some kind of solution to the problem right at launch.
You make me like charity
That's what instances are for. But then everyone complains that the game is all instances and isn't open.
If we were all forced to go into each of these dungeons as an instance. Solo or group, then the bots wouldn't be there. But there wouldn't be a single public dungeon. It would be more like TOR or AoC. And you could only kill everything once per run. No more spawns in dungeons.
That would make it much easier to find bots in the open world, because the instances would no longer be an issue.
Personally, I believe it was a mistake to make dungeons public. It is nice having others there to help you from time to time, but it makes the content way too easy. Dungeons could have been much more of a challenge if you were on your own or it tuned to a group if you enter as one.
How many people long for that "past, simpler, and better world," I wonder, without ever recognizing the truth that perhaps it was they who were simpler and better, and not the world about them?

That's what they need, more GM's in-game actively porting these bots to some holding instance and have a chat with them to see if they are a real person.
Until they can sort this issue out, I certainly can't see myself resubbing to the game, it's just not worth the hassle of having to deal with the constant fights for bosses etc.
actually they've been doing a great job with the bots... you hardly see any bots in the dungeons now. at least I havent seen one in 4 days
GMs are actively banning them left and right everywhere... You dont even have to fight for "bosses" anymore... most of the time you have them all for yourself and 1 or 2 other guys, then 2 more come, 2 leave... and sometimes you're left alone with a special one and it wipes the floor with you.
Great job by zenimax - but would you acknowledge that? nah... its easier to just diss the game and say stuff like " I certainly can't see myself resubbing to the game, it's just not worth the hassle of having to deal with the constant fights for bosses etc."
That is nice. How about a popup telling players to leave the dungeon in X minutes or get flagged. IF the dungeon is really large, have different colored and shaped areas on the ground they can stand in to be safe but only one color/shape is safe and that is in the text of the popup. Make sure it is friendly to colorblind people.

I agree with that.
