    well the so called action combat in terra and other similar games has basically replaced the tab target 1,1,1,2,2,2,3,4 or whatever with the following..

    Left click, left click, left click, right click, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8, left click , right click...

    Same here.  Relying on hidden dice rolls to determine something that is better suited toward using player skill is a huge no no for me.

    Sandbox means open world, non-linear gaming PERIOD!

    Subscription Gaming, especially MMO gaming is a Cash grab bigger then the most P2W cash shop!

    Bring Back Exploration and lengthy progression times. RPG's have always been about the Journey not the destination!!!

    Doing so while moving, positioning, using active dodge/block abilities and using more skill then standing still an trading blows with mobs.

     

    On top of this it is more engaging, teaches player skill, is more immersive and is a helluva lot more fun.

    good thing games like this are better suited for dice rolls.

    Until there are wires running into your head, reading your mind, guess what - its been done before!  Your going to push the F#ck out of some buttons to make your avatar do sh!t, its that simple.

    I want a huge world with freedom; give me that with any old combat system.

    Do I feel more elite? No, but I do feel more engaged and it is way more fun.

    I think everything has it's place, but the whole tab target/dice roll thing is retro and niche.  I'd personally like a nice balance between positioning, timing for attacks, as well as skill and build meta game. Writing macros/rotations and all that stuff doesn't need to die, but it needs to definitely fall back.

     

    I have tab target/dice roll games I like, but I'm not trying to pick up a new game that has PVP in 2014 and go back to that.  No way.
