Lol, It's a Logitech M510. For years I used a basic wired mouse from Dell and I decided one day on an impulse that I need a wireless mouse with a couple thumb trigger buttons.
The problem is this mouse doesn't work on a futon which is where I sit. The "high performance LASER' picks up EVERY contour of the couch cushion or fabric that the mouse goes over. Playing something like Path of Exile would be impossible without using this new mouse on a mouse pad.
So, the old dumb wired mouse with it's bright ass laser never had that issue. I guess "High DPI" or "Works on glass" etc. might not be what I'm looking for. Any good mice out there worth picking up to avoid having to use a smooth level mouse pad? Cash isn't too much of an issue if it's really worth the money. Just looking for wireless, works on bumpy surface and a few trigger buttons for hotkeys.
Any help is MUCH appreciated because looking at product descriptions can be vague. Also I find having a few thumb buttons is killer for blasting out skillz. Don't know how I lived without them.

Screw the mouse and get a trackball instead, then you wont need any silly mousemat or similar. Faster as well, my PvPing became a lot better since I started with it.
I use a Logetech M570, it takes a day to get used to but it is a lot faster and don't give you any mousearm.
Uhm, thanks for that enlightening reply... It is still faster than a Naga though.
You're going to have to make up your mind what you value. Wireless introduces a bunch of problems that wired mice are simply immune to, so if you put a high priority on reliably working exactly right, that rules out wireless.
If you really need to put a mouse on a bumpy surface, a trackball will work.
The higher the resolution of the mouse, the more likely it is to pick up unintended movements, including any little wobble in the mouse caused by the glider feet not being level with each other by a hair's width. If you're going to be playing on a futon, then something like the Logitech Performance Mouse MX might be good. It is very ergonomic, but at the same time made for "regular" users so it should probably work on a futon. It's big though. One of the slightly smaller wireless, non-gaming mice should work fine.
For that matter, a Best Buy store brand will probably work just fine. Just keep in mind that if you're going after the extra buttons, you're going to get into "gaming" territory and you're probably going to get a much more responsive mouse, which on a futon isn't necessarily good.

Word bro, WORD! Love my Razer Naga and they just released the 2014 which is the best yet, the laser is awesome and fast and goes over rough surfaces easily, plus 19 keys lol, it's an awesome mouse and I agree I would never go back.
I've always wanted to try a trackball, but it's so intimidating. XD
I use a Naga as well and it's been a flawless experience.
TRACKBALL!!!! sweet. I'm definitely going to try this direction first. I never thought of it and kinda thought it was a 90's fad or something lol. I hope I dig it cause now I can see myself using the mouse anywhere like on my lap or on the back of my cats head. Will take some practice I'm sure. Can't wait though.
Thank you for the help everybody!
If you are playing on the back of your cats head then you got some serious problems to deal with first before what mouse you should get...lol

This really funny. My wife uses that exact Trackball mouse and I use the twelve button Razer Naga, left handed mouse.
Kill it with fire is exactly what her mouse deserves! I hate using that thing. Naga over a trackball, any day since the creation of time.
My experience with Razer's wireless has not been super great. I have the Mamba and in wireless mode it periodically loses connection and has to reconnect. Though, I have heard that about other wireless mice too.
Regarding the trackball, I used a Logitech trackball for a long time. I did a lot of graphic design and web work too. I also had the trackball mouse with the oversized trackball where you could use fingers on both sides to have fine control. This one:
It was OK, even for gaming, but it wasn't great. It worked though, and on an unstable surface, the trackball might be the way to go. Really, it all just depends on what you get used to.

While not what you are looking for. I am a Logitech G600. It took awhile to get use to. The side buttons are still firm as when I bought it. Good weight to the mouse and great build quality. I had to get a replacement mouse. My first one was the first model that didn't have upgradable firmware and had a small cursor glitch at times. They sent me a new one with only a few emails. I've had it for a few months now. No complaints about it. I can fully relax my hand and not claw it like I have had to do with smaller mice.
That said. I think I would choose something like the G700s next time. I only use the first row mainly on the 600 and that's not to often. What do people like Purge use? I imagine if a mouse lives through the punishment that he dishes out with all those clicks it must be pretty decent.
