Daylight Survival Horror Game Question

I have played thru the first level and for the LIFE OF ME I cant figure out how to save the game.  I finally just had to turn it off and I lost all my progress.  I have tried searching around the interwebs for an answer but I have had no luck.  My Search-Fu must be rusty.

Any kind souls out there that can point me in the right direction?

    It has an auto save feature, it should save once you move to the next area.
