Pre-Ordered, now 25 hours in, it's a fun game.

so, about a month from pre-order release. I've only played about 25 hours due to work and life and whatnot. but I think the game is fun. there seems to be a lot of hate generated at this title right now. but not every game is for everyone. im having fun and I plan to continue my subscription.

I don't know how many hours i've played, but i've hit level 15 after around 10 days of playing and i agree it does have decent qualities.

For me what works is i've not encountered a single quest that has asked me to gather for example 20 lizard gizzards, the closest to that was a quest done to gather croc teeth, which was done after a few crocs, rather than grinding through dozens to get the result.

The quests overall are good so far, I've not felt the usual monotony of quest based games, with endless running back and forth, but feel as though they looked to remove that ridiculous time sink other games use between quests.

Sound is amazing, creating a great RPG atmosphere and the combat is a vast improvement for games of this ilk.

But it's not perfect, I hate that the EU server is in the US, i can feel the latency in combat, I think zenimax are greedy frackers for pricing ingame mounts as they have and then having the cheek to offer them for cash.

There are bugs, the most notable by me was constant crashing at a certain place, and then theres the bots, the spammers and i've most definitely seen teleport hacks in use.

The lack of speech bubbles really hurts the MMO experience, especially when players have to close the chat to be rid of the annoying shits spamming or just being dicks.

A far from perfect game, but far from being a failure too, enjoyable if you've a bit of patience, but probably frustrating to those with a less forgiving nature.

You're not supposed to have fun in video games. You're supposed to nitpick them to death and then hate the game and yourself for playing it, get a refund, and then come post on forums about the game about how much it sucks.

Having fun is for losers. Being miserable and trying to make others miserable is super trendy! #MiseryLovesCompany

The people who are not having fun with ESO always say exactly why they don't find it fun.

The people who are having fun with ESO never say why they find it fun.

Therefore, I'm far more inclined to believe the opinions of people who don't like ESO.

    Detail provides credibility.

    Sure. http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/410175/ESO-Review-long.html

That's what I said about ESO weeks ago. If that's not enough info for you, I'd be happy to write a few pages on why ESO is so fun. It's a shame that threads where someone declares that they quit garner 27 pages, while a fairly longish post that (I feel) is a fairly balanced look at ESO only manages 10 replies.

The people who are not having fun don't just come in and say why they don't find it fun and then move on to do something more interesting, enjoyable and productive with their time. They stay on the ESO general forums making sure that they are loud and repetitive about how unfun ESO is for them.

That's a good, detailed review. Well done.

For your interest, the review that influenced me most was Angry Joe's review on YouTube. The advantage of YouTube is that you can see a demonstration of the gameplay.

If you want to make money out of doing reviews, you could do the same thing.

Personally, I am waiting to try ArcheAge (when it becomes free to play) and Elite: Dangerous when it comes out in a few months.

I'm enjoying Heathstone, Dungeon Keeper, and the X-COM games at the moment, and that's enough for me.   :o)

The reason most of the positive comments are so hard to find it because they are generally opinions and if they are worded as such most of the trolls won't repeatedly bump them and they'll get 2-4 replies and disappear from page 1 never to be seen again.
