Window mode crashes?

I am not sure if this is really a bug or what. I decided since the only thing i dont really like in this game, is that the economy/crafting isnt what I like, but i do enjoy the combat/PVE. I dont like the combat in EVE though. So I decided to play them both at once, since eve crafting/economy is pretty time consuming, but you really dont need to pay much mind to it. Thing is ESO keeps crashing, I thought is was my graphics card, because I had a custom rom, and a overclock. I have tried 3 different Bios, no overclock, underclock, and overclock. It still seems to crash every 10-20mins.

Any one know a way to stop this, or is it my computer. I downloaded rift, to see if that would work with EVE. I am sure this is a rare problem, considering I am prolly the only one that plays them both.

I wouldent say it is to much for the computer. They both run max settings 60fps, well ESO in town drops to around 45-60. The ram is around 75 percent, and even both at the same time only use around 1.5gbs of video ram.

I5 3570k 4.7

290x

8gbs ram

    It's not just you.

My crashing got progressively worse, to the point that the game sometimes crashed within 30 seconds of starting.  After around the 30th incident, I filed for a refund.  What is laughable is that their customer service is so poor and so slow that, by the time they actually responded to my request for a refund, the problem went away.

No idea why; there was a patch (that caused a lot of other issues), so I suspect there was a "stealth fix" that ZOS didn't want to acknowledge.  That seems to be their modus operandi.

My son started encountering the same problem a week later.  Other people have posted that they've encountered crashes.

Note: it's not a question of "Window mode".  The game uses what is known as "FakeFullScreen", which is a borderless window, to emulate fullscreen mode.  This allows the coders to use Windows library functionality rather than having to write a lot of code to replace the library functions that are not available with true fullscreen mode.  It's not an uncommon practice.  Unfortunately, it also means accepting the overhead (processing and memory) that comes with using the Windows libraries (gives "code bloat" new meaning).

I see thank you for the information. I was thinking it was eve, I will have to see if rift crashes too.
