I have heared they consider using UIs that show info like skyshards and treasure map locations cheeting.
Cheeting is a bannable offense, tough i think that when they finnaly get their act together, they will suffice with banning the adds instead of the players using them...
so far i enjoyed playing the gane withouth external info, like these mods and google info or cheet websites, i personally enjoy it much more like that..

So, if they were to allow all these mods, why they didn't provide themselves an UI that you will have the option to turn on and off some of them? They advertise the minimalistic UI but let ppl to do things with external mods like the ones you mentioned above. I cant get it...
All Time Favorites: EQ1, WoW, EvE, GW1
Playing Now: WoW, ESO, GW2
It's easy.. do you have any idea how long it would take them to make all of these mods by themselves? It's a lot easier to allow your users to create their own, and then pick and choose what they want to use. What if ZOS designed a mini-map mod that you hated? What if player X could create a mini-map mod that you would absolutely love? Without this setup, you'd never get a chance to use that mod, as you'd either have the mod you hate or not have a mod at all.
Understand now?
Link to source of them saying that using minimap addons that show the locations of resources is considered cheating?
Not saying you are talking out of your ass or anything.
The producers kept the official UI as close to the Elderscrolls UI as possible for those that want to play with a minimalist HUD. They left the coding source partially open for moders to create add ons for those who prefer a little (or ALOT) more info. ZOS is aware of the UI moding going on and took steps before launch to close off parts they felt gave too much in game advantage.
