Will class builds eventually degrade into the FOTM spectacle we see in the majority, if not all, MMO's?

How friendly or unfriendly is the game to the PVE crowd?

Easter eggs, the game seems to have quite a few, are they truly numerous or where a the few encountered simply showcased? (I love eggs)

How rich is the history, if at all?

I think that the class builds are very diverse and fairly well balanced, that being said I believe that any one class can be played at an high skill level and be dominant if that build perfectly suits the players playstyle. In terms of strengths and weaknesses you have to think of the class types as rock, paper, scissors. Each class has an advantage on a specific counter part yet there is also a class out there that has a clear advantage.  Advantage does NOT equal automatic win, a person of skill using a class that fits them well will be able to utterly destroy their counter class with ease.

I really have have to commend XLgames on the development of this game, It blurs the lines between PvE and PvP. With PvE world bosses being in contested zones it is fairly difficult to participate in endgame PvE without the possibility of running into a conflicting guild. I know many people will not agree with this but I think this is the proper environment for an immersive mmorpg. There is PvE you can complete without encountering PvP yet I find the most fun is when you mix the two together.

Overall the PvP community seems to be a little hard on those unwilling to take risks. It seems to be geared more towards people that want a challenge in gaming and frowns upon "carebearing", Big Risk Big Reward is a large element in Archeage.

By easter eggs I assume you mean hidden content/mechanics. It'd be hard to quantify these as I've played a year and a half and continue to find new things as I play. One of the biggest ones would be underwater exploration and treasure hunting, much like the Earth the world in which AA is set is primarily water! Endless possibilities.

History as in Lore? I'm not very big on Lore though I wish I was more attentive to it. Unfortunately since I leveled through KR and RU versions where I could not read the quests I got accustomed to rushing through. It seems it is pretty rich in history if you wanted to explore it, additionally there are many hidden quests which I know you are given clues about through your interaction with the NPCs and the Lore. Also by exploring you will find extra lore not included in the main quest line.  I'm not much of an RPer but the game definitely has the foundation to create a vivid world to roleplay in.
