Hello
Total MMO newbe but experienced in rpgs. My fav. rpgs were morrowind, & Vampire: Bloodlines. I've been following MMO's fir a while, checkin things out & thinking will be the time to take plunge in near future.
I've also thought about what i would like to be able to play in mmo, so i'm just gonna ask and see if there is anything remotely cloes, i don't have much of a clue.
Primarily i'd like a combat system that has levels. The levels relate to experience but are vulnerable to gameplay. The levels also have certain strengths and disadvantages against other level approaches (either distinguished by class, weapon speciality or both) & not level strength alone. Essentially a rock, scissor paper type of dynamic to levels, meaning combat is not totally dependent on level of skill in whatever, but also on what the adverserial situation is. So if your highest level attackin is against foes that happen to have characteristic that have great defense against what that is, you have to do something else. The lower one's skill or level in what is chosen to use in a natural relative dis-advantage level type comparison, & the greater the degree of difference in level advantage/disadvantage one to the other, the more it takes working out greater and greater combinations of things that will be effective for whatever it is that is the challenge.
I guess what it amounts to is looking for a gaming experience that you can less just cruise into a fight based on knowing your skill level alone is greater than the challenge of that foe. you have to familiar with character types/or weapon types in how they attack to orientate your approach more in what to do. It also gives situations when you are significantly 'out gunned' type of things, where you have a chance if you know & have the lower level combinations that will work along with the gameplay to do it successfully.
As i said, i don't have much of a clue, but if there is anything out there similar to this, would be great to know for future gaming. I really like the feel of the elder scrolls online from what have seen, but don't think it offers the specifics of combat i have outlined, although it looks like it does in a general sense & looks pretty great to me generally.
Anyhow, if you read all that, and could follow some of it, have any input, just be interesting to hear.
Tank u.
