Hello. I miss coh as hell. Is there a game with equally as good combat?
As example playing a regeneration scrapper healing really healed for a good amount.
Most other mmo's you just get a few percentage of healing and other bonuses.

In CoH bonuses had a great impact.

Cryptic made one, but it never really caught on, and since then there hasn't really been a Super Hero MMO made thats worth mentioning. Perhaps NCSoft could one day re-release a slightly updated version of COH/COV the game was not, afaik anything like a disaster, and if anything just highlighted inadequacies in other Superhero games image

    Hi gronbek,

I never played coh, however if you are looking for a good superhero mmo i believe you should try both champions online and dc universe online. If you had to pick one i would reccomend dcuo. Good graphics abd character customization , great environments and great pve - pvp system.

If you can wait a couple of years (I think they are hoping to release in 2016), City of Titans is a Kickstarter'd MMO started by talented fans of the old CoH. We will have to see how it turns out, though I did back them :)

Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse.

Champions online is actually pretty good and has huge customization, and as a cryptic game isn't bad whatsoever. It's worth a try since it is free to play.

Champions Online was made by some of the same people, but as someone who played and loved City of Heroes, I will say that Champions Online simply did not do it for me at all.

The best way to describe it is that it felt like a free to play game.

CO is on the same level of greatness as CoH/V was, just a bit different. I loved the Freeform and the travel powers much more than in CoH (that was one of the reasons I switched when CO launched), the cel-shade was a cool idea, and the costume / looks customisation part is huge. On the other hand I missed the villains part, CO could use a Foundry like STO and Neverwinter has (and CoH had with the Architect), and a level-adjusting system too (like the mentoring).

I think the breaking point was when Marvel turned away from the project. If CO would launch as an official Marvel mmo, I think it grabs a big share from the market for itself easily. I don't mind the Champions IP either, but Marvel is Marvel :) Without a big IP it could "only" (in brackets) reach CoH's level, but it couldn't step over its predecessor. Still, a great game. Imo, of course.

I played Champions Online but it could not hold me like City of X. I actually prefer City of Villains too so having played City of Heroes less although I had heroes and villains on both Freedom and Virtue servers I still tended to play my villains more. CO never managed to convey that level of game play. The skill sets and group play never quite got off to the scale of City of Villains. Story wise also I think City of X was better but I did not play CO that much to really be sure about that. CO may have become better at later levels but I had already left the game.

I too am very nostalgic about City of Villains and Heroes. I wish they would revive the game even if all my characters  are gone I would play it and even pay a sub to do it.
