Honestly I'd suggest World of Warcraft out of the ones listed. You could wait for Dark and Light but it isn't out yet. Star Wars Galaxies is nice if you like scifi and are a Star Wars fan but with the combat upgrade I don' tknow how much the game has changed.
I'd would recommend taking a pass on EQ1 and EQ2 to be honest. While not bad games and great in their own right, personally I wouldn't recommend them anymore. EQ1 for the price increase and EQ2 for it's general feel and setup.
But it all depends on what you are looking for... While i love wow and play it all the time it does have some les then stellar parts.. I choose it after about a month of looking threw alot of forums at alot of places. Is they any specific in game contnent hat you are looking for ??
EQ2-Amazing graphics bit more serious I personally love its look and feel
Guild Wars-Stunning graphics and gameplay with PvP endgame tons of replay value for a game of its size! Plus no montly fee
Star Wars Galaxies-Great graphics and music and sound effects suck you into the star wars universe, plus you get a Landspeeder when you start at least I did hehe
Personally Im playing them all right now in small doses. Mostly I play WoW just cuz its damn fun but I love having the Station pass-the luxury of having EQ2, EQ1, SWG, and might start playing Planetside soon (FPS MMO!) all for one fee so I would recommend that cuz you can play SWG and EQ2 for one fee its basically the best deal going in MMO's
EQ2 gets a bad rap from some people as it does take time but if you have a High End system the graphics are basically the best. The bump mapping and complex textures make things look nearly real and the water IS real hehe I find myself missing my EQ2 character if I play WoW for too long cuz hes so damn kewl looking lol level 33 guardian with nice armor damn the game looks good Im gonna go play when I get off work gotta go bye

The rev
Have a look into them all, check out the sites, perhaps any free trials they have. After all not everyone is into the same sort of things.
However, I also suggest looking into the Saga of Ryzom at www.ryzom.com
At the end of the day it depends what you want in an MMORPG.
