Imperials..what alliance to start with?

What is a proper alliance to start with as an Imperial? Not sure about their back history, so I do not know where to start them. Is one alliance 'better' suited than the others for the Imperial?

    The majority of Imperials live in the centre of the three factions and have allied themselves with Molag Bal. They are at war with everyone.

     

    Since their lands are connected theres no harm in being an Imperial anywhere as they could have been living there before the war or defected to another country.

    From a lore perspective it makes no difference.

     

    From a game play perspective... a lot of people say that the flow of the quests and story lines is better in the AD and that would help a new player... I tend to agree.

    If I were an imperial that wasn't fighting with molag bal to try and maintain power, I'd go with Daggerfall. Why? Because it makes the most sense with what we know about DC politics and the general traits of an Imperial. Imperials at heart are tradesmen, masters of mercantile. While one alliance (EP) doesn't really have much of a clear goal besides having power for the sake of power, and the AD fights to restore the throne with a Elven races (as it were in the beginning), the High King Emeric lays out the goal to restore Tamriel and in turn restore the trade routes across the continent. Emeric himself was a merchant and his economic drive leaves me thinking an Imperial would rather like fighting under the Daggerfall Covenant.
