WildStar or Archage?

NoxiousBassNoxiousBass Member UncommonPosts: 259

Been playing WoW since launch, and been on and off for the last couple of years. It´s always been my "home" so I will eventually buy the next expansion WoD.

Meanwhile, I´m in the fence about purchasing WildStar or Archage. I said in a post before that I would purchase WildStar, since I am quite enjoying the open Beta (been in closed betas also) and it seems like a great game for the long run, but I've been keeping an eye on Archage and it looks absolutely awesome with so much interesting features with a realistic, natural environment.

With that said, I would like to ask the people who played both games (I understand that a lot of people invested in Archage Founders Pack with Alpha access) which would be better to bet my time and money on. I know It's a personal preference but doesn´t hurt to hear some good opinions to help me make up my mind image

Thanks in advance!

That's an easy decision, archage has got 3-9 months to go before release, play both :)

    rpg/mmorg history: Dun Darach>Bloodwych>Bards Tale 1-3>Eye of the beholder > Might and Magic 2,3,5 > FFVII> Baldur's Gate 1, 2 > Planescape Torment >Morrowind > WOW > oblivion > LOTR > Guild Wars (1900hrs elementalist) Vanguard. > GW2(1000 elementalist), Wildstar

Now playing GW2, AOW 3, ESO, LOTR, Elite D

Should add though, archage is a solid sandbox, crafting, open world pvp where as wildstar is wow 2014.

Well if you are enjoying Wildstar, play it.... as far as Archage goes, only play it if you like PvP an a lot of it, the main focus in this game is PvP , so you need to be ready to play with groups to really get ahead, if all you do is solo, you will get ganked a lot.

Haven't had a chance to try AA yet, but definitely not WS. I've done the Beta's and it just isn't for me.

Neither, tried both didn't like either really. If i had to choose for someone who never got the chance for the type of features that are in Archeage i'd recommend AA to get them that exposure. Otherwise though I wasn't impressed at all with AA after years of waiting and having played better games with the same features. Even though I prefer non themepark games im going to try out Wildstar some more with the open beta see how it plays because im that bored looking for something else to play. But i much prefer games like UO/EVE. Go figure huh, good luck

    both

Well I've done WS beta and AA alpha and I can echo what's already been said, they are not even remotely close to a similar game. Wildstar gets you WoW with an improved combat system while Archage is a sandbox pvp game. Wildstar certainly has more polish to it right now but whether you like one over the other depends entirely on what you actually prefer to do in an mmo.

Wait for them to go F2P.

Both game is not up to par for a sub 2014 MMO.

You can grab some games from Humble Bundle dailiy sale now while waiting for them to go F2P.

Pardon my English as it is not my 1st language :)

I agreed with what the others have said, play both. AA wont' be out for awhile.

I'm currently playing both since AA won't be released for at least another 4 months.

They are both different type of games.

For the long term, I will probably stick with AA since it's not the traditional themepark game like WS.

I guess AA will always be a valid option to hop in, since it will be f2p and very diferent than WildStar, so no harm in having both. On the other hand, WildStar is very simular to WoW and both are sub based, so I will have to opt between these 2 to be my main "home"

Like you Op I also think both games look great, I already preordered Wildstar and plan to play Archage when it releases. RELEASES! I refuse to be another SUCKER who drops 150 bucks to test their game for them, Hell no. If they weren't wiping toons and progress was going to be saved , then maybe I would consider their outrageous and insulting pricetag.

Played in the Wildstar open Beta....Not my taste, graphics much too cartoony and reason i left WoW to begin with..

Waiting to play Archeage when it goes live because i'm sure not paying just to play the broken parts......Not paying to play a game thats F2P in other countries anyway.

From what i have seen of Archeage though - I do like the content..

    ArcheAge

I will probably get the founders Silver Pack for AA when beta is around the corner. It is reasonably priced compared to other games and the goodies that comes with it makes it a pretty good deal. Not sure if there will be a char wipe after beta. I think like another F2P game Neverwinter, the chars progressed to official launch.

Isnt ArcheAge Free to Play? you can play both (one free and one subscribed). Plus WS will eventually drop the sub so its still up to your preference anyway.

ArcheAge. Also while AA will be f2p it's quite the time sink, so if you plan on playing other games (like i did) you will most likely have to chose one of the two.
