Wow maint. times just as bad as before...

So i am not sure how Zeni can keep touting the megaserver anymore.

To me it has shown a huge failure on there behalf, especially when so many bugs can be attributed to the concept and shoddy implementation.

Add to the fact that this game needs 2 maints a week and they are hours long each time just shows that Zenimax bit off way more than they can chew.

I am not bagging out on the game, i just resubbed instead of  quitting, but seriously 2 maints a week seems egregious at best.

Also, this comes close to 10-12 hours a week i do not get to play, since my play times are a bit screwy compared to the rest on NA servers.

So anyone else agree disagree ? I enjoy the game, but i really believe that Zenimax cannot handle the advanced server structure this game has been designed around.

I'm not sold on the Mega server tech either. As far as maint, most are 2 hours or so.

Hmm i dunno, maybe i am in a time vacuum or something, but they always seem to go 3-4+ hours, and still 2 times a week ? I am sure there is one maybe but i cannot think of another MMO that does maint. 2 times a week (scheduled btw)

I think the 2 times a week change was made last week. This is the first week it will be in effect. Over the past month there have only been a couple maints that have went over 2 - 3 hours. 

 

If the scheduled Maint is 2 hours a pop, twice a week, I can't see a problem with that. That's less downtime than most. No one is a fan of maint. It is what it is though.

Update: Maintenance is still ongoing, but we expect the NA megaserver to be back up in less than an hour. Thanks for hanging in there!

The patch this week doesn't really seem very appealing unless you're a mac user.

Megasever technology is relatively new, so over the next few years it is going to get better. This is the future of online gaming, regardless of what we want because it is cheaper.
