I created a new character and within the first 2 minutes of playing I crashed to desktop.
Is this a sign that I should just go with my previous experiences of this game and pass it up?
Is anyone else have crash problems?
My system should absolutely crush this game without even breaking a sweat.
i7-4930K
2 SSDs
16GB RAM at 2133
ASUS GTX780 Ti
ASUS X79 Deluxe motherboard
Corsair Pro Series Gold AXI 1200 power supply
Even using liquid cooling.
There aren't really any games that push my system unless they are un-optimized. Definitely not any MMOs out there I've tried that touches it. I know it's not the best, but damn.
All drivers up to date. No other game crashes.
Should I just uninstall this game again?
I have highlighted the problem. Because it has so much relevance when it comes to game crashing. "Even using liquid cooling" - They placed a lot of emphasis here. See you soon in our little ghost town, partner!
If it was leaking on the ASUS X79 Deluxe motherboard, it would be very relevant!
Very true. The OP clearly stands behind that his computer is not the greatest thing on planet Earth, close though, and has no issues. No other game ever made crashes on his system, but Wildstar! I mean simpleton games like MMOs clearly cannot make his system cringe whatsoever.
It doesn't have to be on their side. It doesn't have to be hardware based. However there can be a hardware conflict, driver conflict, Antivirus causing problems. Too many programs installed, etc. Reinstall Windows if you really want to play it. I'm pretty sure that will solve your problem.

Your specs are irrelevant. If the game dont crash for me but crashes for you then what is wrong with YOUR system? It means nothing that other games dont crash as every game handles resources differently.
PS: Your RAM is probably too slow. My 16GB runs at 2400 and ive not crashed once since January!
My system is fine. I work IT for a living. You are one of those white knights for this game, aren't you?
game has only crashed for me once in 6 months of beta testing.
clearly the issue is on your end, or it was just a fluke.

Seriously? If you've got to do a system install to run W*, then I know exactly where the problem is, and it's not on the games end.
The OP is obviously in need of a topic to use to voice their displeasure with W*. They've already stated that this game is "bland, boring, and uninspired". Now that they've experienced a crash, they can "justifiably" post something negative and start a flame war. Predictable.

Allow me to help you... oh that game comes to mind "help me help you".. lol
The op said "My system is fine. I work IT for a living. You are one of those white knights for this game, aren't you?"
Yes yes ..you jumped a little back reading that ..we all did. To even try to grasp the thought this could be a REAL IT guy now explains life on other planets.
What i noticed on the previous beta when i played it was how horrible my fps were. Settings to medium or low dint improve anything.
No idea how or if this is improved... But with few weeks before release this is a valid concern for many people. Specialy if you dont have a beast pc that pulls you trough less optimized mmo's.
I had my stomach full of themeparks after another major letdown with ESO so no intention of playing / buying this mmo.
But i noticed the crashes and frame drops even on my pc...
The crash isn't why I said I should give up on this game. The crash was merely a sign of things I've known.
This game is bland, boring, and uninspired. For whatever reason I decided to give it another shot, then BOOM crash after 2 minutes.
Seriously, though, if you all are going to be the ones that make up this community I'm most certainly glad that I'm not going to be playing it. Enjoy your ghost town.
So I guess your original post was a rhetorical question as you already knew your answer?
So why post it in the first place if not to brag about your "system"?
Seems like you've made your decision already. But are you using the 64 bit client? Or are you using the other one? Have you used the command line to force different versions of DirectX?
My specs are higher than yours on my main computer, and I've managed to level right to level 50 with possible one or two CTDs, back in Feb, which was linked to a bad nvidia driver.
The crash isn't why I said I should give up on this game. The crash was merely a sign of things I've known.

My system is nothing to brag about, but it does get the job done. It handles every game I've tried max settings.
It IS known, however; that WildStar's optimization leaves something to be desired.
It's funny that some said my RAM wasn't good enough and one even tried to say that liquid cooling my CPU is the problems. I can forgive crashes. It happens. I can't forgive a bad game, though. I was so excited for this game based on the Dev Speaks. Playing the game changed my opinion. I decided to try it again...give it another fair shake, but right off the bat it crashed. If you don't like my posts or this thread don't read it, but for the love of everything good in this world stop making stuff up to defend the game.
I think you either love it straight away or you don't so I suggest you go with your gut. I was 'a bit meh' when I tried in beta so will not be playing it.
Game runs fantastic for me, and my computer isn't near as good as yours. One thing they do have a LOT of in the game is clutter. Some may want to turn that down. As far as getting booted within 2 mins of entering the game? That obviously has nothing to do with computers or optimization. That's just an error on their end, which is what beta is for; working those out.

If it wasn't clear before it is now. So you have your answer, anything else is just a typical troll looking to bash the game.

Woah dude take a freaking chill pill , If you don't like the game fine , no need to get so aggressive about it is there ? .
What i don't get is its a game that looks slightly better than wow. But people with super powerful pc's are crashing or having graphic cards burn out from playing a beta. And it all seems to be random. You never know if its going to be you or when it will happen. Thats why i gave away my beta key and will stay away from this game. It is something on their end with their new engine they made for this game. And they won't own up to it.

Yeah they've only admitted to the problem and have been releasing optimizing patches for weeks. It's better for many people, yet still some have problems. Carbine still says there's work to do.
So yeah...they won't own up to it at all

In complete seriousness, if you're truly not here to brag about your system, and you already knew you hated the game, why are you here? For the normal person, it's game over. Tried the game, didn't like it, moved on. Hundreds of thousands of players do this every day for all kinds of games.
But you come here under the guise of someone looking for help with a tech problem. But we quickly learn that your true purpose was to call Wildstar out simply for having a tech problem. You didn't actually need any help (I'm an IT guy wooo!), and you didn't actually have to list any of your specs at all (except to flex your geeky machismo). All you really wanted to do was just bash the game by throwing out the three most cliché adjectives that every hater in the past decade has used to describe every MMO they've hated on (this game is so bland, boring, and uninspired!)
Seriously, do a search for the those 3 words. You'll find hits under every single game's forums. They're utterly useless and meaningless words when they're not supported by actual explanations.
Seems your PC even though on paper looks good is a piece of crap :-) Played WS since closed beta and did not crash even once... Running smooth on almost 3yo PC with only upgraded gfx to geforce 770.
OP didn't even mention about her graphic card's driver's version. This is the common problem with IT work force nowadays. All of them thinks that they are "great" computer techs! 99% of the time, they are no where close to "mediocre" on that field. IT => doesn't mean understanding of hardware.

It uses Intel 2000 H.D graphics. No uhh gamers graphic card. Other than log in which has some lag. The game runs and looks good! Been playing off and on for about 4 days now.
Being honest, this nice cheap system I use runs better than my friends gaming systems. Also I have a GREAT ISP!
My system is just an old Intel 6600 CPU with a Geforce 580 video card and I have to say it runs smoothly. The lowest FPS I have ever gotten was 48 and that was just once for few seconds in a raiding situation.
