Without going into detail, having stuck through the beta, I've found myself really enjoying Wildstar. The new player experience almost turned me off, but the game gets incredibly fun (While playing ESO, I often find myself thinking of Wildstar..)
So, with release on the horizon, which class to plan to play as your main?

I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy, accompanied by an educational system which would be oriented toward social goals.

How close do you have to be for you to call it melee? The Medic has basically the same range as the stalker/warrior.....with a couple of exceptions, which is true for every class. The Esper and Spellslinger are even described in promotion as the 2 ranged healers.
I'm still not sure..
I've enjoyed Stalker, Warrior and Medic..
so hard to pick.
Uh, that would be the medic.
Whats the class least vulnerable to lag?
Isnt there a range class, spell slinger or esper, that uses tab targeting?
Write bad things that are done to you in sand, but write the good things that happen to you on a piece of marble
I'm torn between Esper and Engineer... I enjoy both of them very much.
But at launch I'll probably roll Esper
or Engineer
..Cake..
I'm going for Warrior.
In a game where you have to constantly move around and beware of your surroundings I can't resist to stay at the very front. I got sold when I saw the raidbosse-telegraphes that reminded me of a touhou-like bullethell xD

Winning a discussion is not what it's about. If you could pass insight to someone or learn something from it in return - noone can really loose, can they?
Strange I thought for sure stalker would be #1. In game thats the main class when asked. "what the best class". Nice to see it might not be
With the telegraph system in place, there's no class least vulnerable to lag. If you have lag, you're screwed.
There is no tab targetting at all for any class. You can "highlight" foes with tab, but your skils won't go directed to them unless you aim. The tab highlightning is merely to get information on the enemy (health, buffs, etc).
My opinion is my own. I respect all other opinions and views equally, but keep in mind that my opinion will always be the best for me. That's why it's my opinion.
For healing I heard espers actually need to directly target a lot with their skills. To my knowledge might be the only exception tho.

Yeah there are targetted support skills on allies, but you can't tab on them, need to click either on them or their character frame. (Or use F2-F5 buttons if in party).

Both those classes dont use mellee weapons and in my vision dont quallify as a melee class
so far only the warrior was fun soloing..... And all three healers wherefun in groups.. .... Warrior tanking however is also fun..

So far my favorite classes are engineer/medic then warrior then spellslinger/stalker followed by a very distant esper.
I'm gonna roll an engineer at launch because I'm more interested in tanking than healing, but I'll roll a medic at some point as well.
From my experience with the game it feels like there is no real melee whatsoever. Its just game of shorter telegraphs and longer telegraphs. If I ever play this game again Im gonna choose a class with a gun or something, because watching character swing weapon wildly in the air and enemy 5 meters away somehow takes damage, it doesnt feel right to me. Not to mention the lack of impact or anything.
biggester disappointment: Esper is a static class while everyone else has a lot of mobility. I was really looking forward to Esper.... Just like wizards from Neverwinter, a cool class screwed by ground glue.
