That seemed fairly obvious when the Russian AA was forced to start IP blocking Korea because so many Korean players were fleeing to the Russian servers.
Might as well have posted a link to ancient Aramaic and said the same thing.
Anyways,
There is strong role play elements is AA. The game is not for everyone, but it does offer alot to many many people. If it does bomb for some reason due to a patch that is not rolled back, or poor server stability, or whatever reason once it goes live here in the US, that will be the company's problem, not ours.
Would we like to see this game succeed here and do well enough to continue generating content and thrive? Yes.....but it's not truly up to us how they go about it.
My guess is since all the twitch feeds and youtubes show positive views on the game, it will do quite well here since it's a different audience.
Some changes in patch 1.0 were bad and some were good.
I think that what hurt the most AA in Korea was the poor customer support. Let's hope Trion bring the good changes, exclude the bad ones and give the game the proper support in the west. We can only hope because the game is fantastic, even in alpha state.

Glad Trion has a little saying what WE get to see from that 1.0 patch. So far i think Archeage is looking quite good as long as Trion isnt forced to copy all that crap from XLgames into the US/EU version !
And man Korea has like 1 mmo launch a day i think compared to our 4 year mmo cycles ^^ Those Koreans have so much more choice in mmo's its ridiculous -_- And LoL man....LoL is so massive there....even the 90's year olds know what LoL is

Exactly. The market there is entirely different.
I don't think its that different. It's the same here in greece for example. Almost every teenage gamer is playing League of legends. Clearly Archeage isn't targeting the younger audience judging from its mechanics and depth.

You bring up a good point. The age of gamers plays an important part of what tastes they have in particular types of games.
I wonder if adults are frowned upon in certain countries for playing games. I know ArcheAge is targeted at more adult gamers that want deep interactive worlds with alot of complex systems to learn and master and have fun with for a long time as well as a game they can enjoy with wife/husband/friends/ guildmates for a good long while.

You don't think its that different? The MMORPG market is vastly different. Lets look at the results there if you only look at MMORPGs that people here play. Displayed in the order they show up on that list.
1. Lineage
2. Maple Story
3. Blade & Soul
4. Aion
5. World of Warcraft
Now if these ratings were in America this list would be basically reversed. Does anyone actually believe that any of those 4 games would be ranked above WoW? I'm not biased here. I played WoW their first year and haven't been back since. I'd just like to say the numbers speak for themselves. Preferences on the other side of the world in a far different culture are not even slightly representative of ours.
Just to question the philosophy. Army of Socrates.

Well I can't speak much for the MMO market in Greece, but in Korea, players do tend to prefer narrow options and repetition. MOBAs are kind of the culmination of that: zero story or creativity, so the focus is on just the grind with some competition. For better or worse, Asian society has never been one for creativity and freedom, so the fact that sandbox games and really anything that offers too many choices ever does well there.
If ArcheAge isn't targetting younger people, I doubt its because of any perceived "depth." It would just be due to younger people having less money, and it's easy for basically anyone to download LoL and start playing for free. Pretty much any country with a crappy economy or whacked out employment options for young people would be prime grounds for things like LoL.

Seens that 1.0 patch didn't good to it.
