Wait, let me rephrase that, i forced myself to play until i hit 25.
For me the game was dull, boring, with nothing to really look forward to.
I am not a fan of 40 man raids, and since that is what the end-game is focused towards it really does not have much for me to want to pay for the game and a sub.
If it goes F2P, not saying it will, but if it does i might try it again and see if the 40 man raids got toned down.
I wish all of you who are buying it, the best of times in the game, for me its just not my cup-o-tea.
The devs have been very clear this game will never be easy mode. The skill level is the skill level. Im kinda glad to hear that as awesome MMOs have become a shell of what they once were to cater to the masses. I hope they stick to their word.
Sorry i should have been more clear on this... i do not want a difficulty adjustment.... far from that i just want a smaller raid size is all... 40 man is just ungainly and a PITA to organize and manage. Really that's my only beef with raids, and i feel 20 man raids are a perfect size.

That works out well since Wildstar has 20 man raids >.>
Preordered mostly because of friends. Then they decided Wildstar was just one more themepark mmo and got refunds. I waffled for a while and decided to keep mine.
Wildstar is just another themepark mmo with lots of shiny new. I find it hard to imagine rolling alts since that gets old fast. But I liked the game well enough to preorder so I'll play through the first 30 days at least and see how it shapes up.
The biggest weakness of Wildstar appears when one wants "something new" from it. It's just not what this game was made in mind with.
And that's why I won't be playing it - I *do want* something new. Hence, I'll settle for ArcheAge. And the Russian version of Black Destert from the looks of it

While that is true its is not the end game content the devs are pushing, i won't re-hash the whole thing, i am not a fan of 40 man raids, Carbine wants 40 man raids to be its end game PvE content, until this is adjusted to 20 man raids being the end game direction i am not very interested in playing the game.
Not only that, the journey to cap is as dull as watching paint dry, this for me also kills the game.
Originally posted by Madimorga Yeah, I'm getting it. For the housing. Elder scrolls didn't have it, Everquest Landmark is great but it has a long way to go before it has enough flesh on its bones, and ArcheAge is going to be a griefer's paradise. So Wildstar it is. Bonus that it's a sci-fi setting.
I respect your opinion , I like ESO for many reasons, but dislike some aspects like the guild store, but landmark has awesome crafting and hear Open beta is soon.. AA will have servers were its not, so why do people assume this?
I have been playing games with FFA l loot for 15 years and run a guild against griefers to me its fun to gank , gankers, and watch them whine and complain, so find a good guild, and you will have fun with other aspects because games LIKE AA I have the most fun with other aspects like crafting and they aren't WOW clones.. So PVP should not make you not want to play a game... I'm confused by this.
After playing open beta, I have to say no. It did not hold my interest and if I want to see cartoons like the characters in it, I'll watch cartoon network. Gameplay was ok and the combat system seems more like turn based while waiting for your "spells" to go off without any type of animation, it gets boring and repetitive.
I actually was very hopeful about the game, because there aren't enough science-fiction games that aren't shooters or flight or dogfight simulators. And I thought that a bonus would be that this could be a game with a sense of humor to it.
But my experience with the beta was that I didn't have fun, I didn't like the Disney-esque graphics, the combat and just navigating the world felt awkward, and it doesn't even feel like a science fiction game -- it feels more like a fantasy game with science fiction trappings. I'm sure that the game will be better than it was in the beta I tried, but my experience with that beta was so bad that I lost all desire to log in for subsequent betas (mostly it was the g-darn Gw2/platformer jumping that were intrinsic to navigation and some of the quests. I hate platformers, and parts of the game felt like I Was in a platformer. It might not have been so bad, had the jumping actually been more controlled and less awkward, but it was far too frustrating for me.
I like the game and already pre ordered, but what i wasnt expecting is that the game seems to have many fans already. In every poll (including this one) in various sites i see that many ppl like it and will play the game. I wasnt expecting this for WS as its not a big or well known IP game.
Anyway imo, when it comes to sub mmo's retention is more important than sales, so time will tell
All Time Favorites: EQ1, WoW, EvE, GW1 Playing Now: WoW, ESO, GW2
I only played OB till level 6. wasn`t really that fun. but level 6 isn`t enough to judge the game. i pre-ordered and will be giving the game a full chance to impress me before archeage comes out.
I went ahead and bought the game. With all the opportunities to play their open betas, if I regret it, it's going to be nobody's fault but my own.
I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy, accompanied by an educational system which would be oriented toward social goals.
I've already pre-ordered it, mainly as filler while waiting for EQNext for now, I've got cash to burn. I really like the housing system and dungeons. Everything else is a bit meh.
I found the game painfully mediocre. I don't like the telegraph system when it's used this way and I was turned off by the feeling of being in a perpetual comic strip the entire time.
I'm sitting this launch out but might buy it later if there is a good sale on the game at some point or if it manages to grab ahold of players like they are trying to. I'm not convinced there is mainstream appeal anymore for a game like this and too many options for the niche market to really take hold.
I have not heard of a mass exodus from the WoW and EQ2 raiding scenes to Wildstar. A few yea and many guilds are going to be hedging their bets by playing both games but not many are disbanding their existing guilds to move over. As far as I can tell the hard core raiders are looking at this more as something to fill in off raid nights than a new home.
Dubious that the paths and adventures will be a reliable sort of content and that in the end it will be raid or GTFO.
Cautious of 40 man raids, there was a reason why Blizz shifted from 40 man raids that the haters of WoW and fans of WS quickly forget. And I really think that their whole "hardcore" mentality of "tough shit" if the raid is too hard while I can see where they're coming from and agree to an extent is really going to bite them in the ass later with either people leaving or they change their stance and be labeled as hypocritical.
Reason being mostly that a significant portion of any raid are not your stellar raiders. Getting 40 people together at a set day on at a set time for a set duration is hard and getting 40 completely competent people is damn near impossible under those conditions. And if they follow their decision that a single mistake will wipe the raid then a lot of players are going to get frustrated and rage. Even on flex SoO I constantly see my own guild mates doing stupid crap, like just sitting in the group when targeted by the buzzsaws from Blackfuse that hits all the ranged DPS including healers. And repeatedly wiping on a boss while I enjoy those more than one-shotting bosses causes a significant portion of my guild to get frustrated to the point of near raging. And these are adult gamers with family and all. Time is precious and people don't want to repeatedly wipe on the boss. Granted facerolling through content is no fun either and Carbine seems to be taking the extreme right stance on this.

Donatelli's dismissal of a casual player lamenting that he wants to get sweet gear without joining 20- or 40-man raiding
guilds. "Then don't play," Donatelli had said. Ouch."
This tells me that they really don't know their demographics of gamers very well. Casuals are by far the dominate portion in a games population. Casual gamers like me who are competent and proficient at their class, do want to see all the content but cannot afford the time nor will play a game like a second job. This is something Blizz recognized and why I like how WoW does their raiding with everyone can experience the content and the hardcore can up the difficulty for better loot.
Initial impression is "ohhh great... another WoW 2.0 MMO"
Don't know if I will take the plunge or not. Warlords is a long ways away but there are some really nice single player games coming out in the later half of the year like WL2, DA:I, Pillars of Eternity.

I think Carbine did a great job with Wildstar, but I am very happy with my current MMO and will not be purchasing this game.
I'm not going to be playing it.

C.R.E.D.D system might hold it up longer than that.

Hahaha, I got this.
Kudos to you sir.
