I'm there with you on that.  It might just come down to me flipping a coin on wither I buy it or not.

If you hate questing You will hate levelling/questing (it's a core element of mmo RPG) Before you spend money, research the game by watching videos, then take ownership for you own decision.

    rpg/mmorg history: Dun Darach>Bloodwych>Bards Tale 1-3>Eye of the beholder > Might and Magic 2,3,5 > FFVII> Baldur's Gate 1, 2 > Planescape Torment >Morrowind > WOW > oblivion > LOTR > Guild Wars (1900hrs elementalist) Vanguard. > GW2(1000 elementalist), Wildstar

Now playing GW2, AOW 3, ESO, LOTR, Elite D

    Vivasvan,

In one sentence you call it a wow clone, then the next you prefer sword/fantasy which Wildstar is not....
Again, no new mmo is going to reinvent the wheel. Leveling, questing, raiding are a part of what works in these games.
Wildstar is doing what wow did, it's taking what works while building upon it. Combat is NOT the same as wow.

MMORPG: PvP intimidates some players. What does Wildstar do to help draw those people in?

JG: A lot of that seal has been broken of crossing the streams [between PvE and PvP]. I think a lot of people got bored with leveling up and shifted into PvP to level up alternate characters or learned that opting into team PvP isn't really that scary. It's scary when you're sitting there alone and someone comes up and ganks you and laughs and poops on your corpse. But when you have 20 of your buddies and you're fighting against 20 other people who can't talk to you or talk smack—that is a controlled environment that's fun. It's as much about camaraderie among your friends as it is about “Hey, I'm going to go kill all these people and then poop on their corpses.” (laughs)

    I got a good laugh :)

I'm still getting Wildstar, but I figured I would answer this.

I enjoyed Runescapes questing probably the most. It was a fairly big risk doing some of the harder quests and the quests could take days to complete, but the rewards were almost always worth it.

From being able to get a weapon on available after the quest (Like an actual good weapon that you could use months on end) or a new merchant to buy things from for skills (which is basically crafting in runescape)

Some people hated it, but I think it has a ton of good ideas that I wish high-budget devs would use.

Maybe I am not as jaded as some players, but quest hubs don't bother me at all. This is especially true in Wildstar as most of the quests are entertaining. Add the convenience of being able to turn the majority in with the communications device and it is win!

I would like to see them add more public events, but not make that a focus. GW2 taught me that playing the same events over and over is MUCH worse than questing. I prefer 'completing' an area of content. It's how I play GW1 and WoW, and now Wildstar. I like the path system too, it works well with questing allowing me to accomplish multiple things at once.

I have only hit max level of 15 in Wildstar and have been told that at level 20 the game really stars to shine. 1-15, minus the ship/station tutorials, was a lot of fun. I can't wait to see what is next! Honestly people, if I had judged WoW from level 1-5 I would have quit. It was slow, whack-a-mole combat with weird graphics. Man am I glad I stayed! WildStar will hopefully be that same kind of game.

really? well that sucks. I hope they sell lvl 35 upgrades in the future because i dont think i can handle the grind 35 levels without a good story.

I'm not sure about weather, although I think it does, but at night cows go to sleep which opens up a cow-tipping challenge. This game is full of all sorts of little things like that.
