Don't even bother trying this game

The game is developed by Runewaker, and if you've played Runes of Magic, you already know what to expect... But expect even worse.

- Bug galore. They'll probably fix most of it over time, but expect frequent C2Ds, lags, glitches, etc. If you have a nVidia, it will be worse for you than for others.

- Not really f2p, not even close. Though you can unlock stuff simply by playing (ie somewhat increased bag space at lvl 10 and 20), you'll either pay for features, or suffer constantly because of restrictions. This goes for inventory, dragon and equipment upgrades, and pretty much everything. And it's expensive.

- Poorly optimised.

- Combat is just annoying, for a number of reasons, here's one: If you're a caster, and attack with spells, most spells that miss, will hit something else. And pull it. And since mobs loves trying to stand exactly where you stand (no collisions), it will happen a lot. And since you're not locking on target, you'll often cast one or two spells too many, and fire off them after the mob is dead. Attacking one mob and killing 5 is actually common due to this.

- Retarded spawn times. Sometimes mobs respawn instantly when dying. In fact, I did the whole quest objective without moving, quite a few times.

- Crafting. Forget it, you won't have enough inventory space to mess with this crap.

- Quests. The same generic stuff you've done for years.

- If you're new to MMOs, don't expect things to be well explained. That it, if it's explained at all.

- Etc.

Bottom line, this game isn't fun. Just don't bother.

All imo, of course.

I haven't played Dragon's Prophet in a long time, since right after launch, but what you described here pretty much sums up my experience with it.

The game was alot of fun to me. Had no opt problems, combat was anything but annoying to me. Bugs were not anything more than any other mmo in recent years. I suppose it is just a preference thing though. Different taste and such.

It's funny because if you'd simply posted that vague list of general complaints without the title in the thread, you could apply it to pretty much any game on the market.

Nothing you've said is really singular to this game, and the only real personal experience you conveyed was missing the intended mob and aggro'ing more--something that sounds more like a L2P problem and not a detrimental game mechanic.

I didn't find the game particularly inspiring back in beta either, but if your intention was to simply bash the game, you could've tried a little harder.

Not sure why you call it "vague", it doesn't take a lot of brain power to understand what I'm talking about. It may apply to other games as well, you'll have to judge that for yourself, but I'm clearly talking about ONE game.. Also, I could easily triple the list if I wanted to. And btw, you could NOT "apply this to pretty much any game on the market" - that's bs, and you know it.

EVERYTHING on the list is "personal experience". And I guarantee you, no matter how good you are, you WILL occationally hit mobs you don't intend to pull.

Allthough you try to imply you're not a huge fan of this game, it sure sounds like I hit a few nerves.

Didn't play to endgame, and I never ever will. The journed there isn't worth the effort.

You don't have to do much research to understand that this game IS pay to win. Much more so than most other "free" games out there.

I played it during beta. I thought the combat was amazing- indeed the aspect that you decry as a flaw is something that I think makes combat shine. Yes you have to be somewhat careful and aim your shots. Yes if you miss you might hit something behind and agro it. That is good not bad, ffs.

The graphics were pretty good, the character customization was solid, the crafting seemed quite deep, and the dragon taming element was cool.

The f2p restrictions bugged me at first, but they are nowhere near as bad as in Archeage. At least during beta it looked like $20-30 would get you enough inventory and stable space to have a good time (compared to AA locking you out of content unless you sub).

The things I didn't like were that the quests seemed boring, the instances I saw were boring, and some of the things I wanted to get into -pvp and housing, were not available until end game (or at least late game I don't remember exactly now) and I couldn't be bothered levelling in order to get there.

The only complaint I had about this game is it starts endgame.  Getting to endgame is like a Korean grind and its horrible experience.
