An old topic, but the OP has a point.  There's a difference between criticism and disparagement.

It's even worse coming from the developers, and judges, themselves.

It's ironic, that most of the people in this thread, are the same people that tell others on this website to provide constructive criticism, yet, it doesn't apply here.

I don't think they were too harsh, but I also think it wasn't in good taste on their part. Either way I will still play. But for those commenting on the derogatory and appalling comments, ffs learn how to read quotes. There are two glaring punctuation marks called quotation marks. They mean the sentence(s) contained there-in were obtained from another speaker. Instead of insulting him, give your side of the disagreement you may have, and actually contribute to this discussion.

I agree with OP - shameful display.

If I were the CEO I'd fire all of them - no questions asked, this kind of behavior towards customers is simply uncalled for.

While I don't think the quotes were all that bad, I agree. The fact of the matter is that, regardless of the situation, employees should not be speaking in such a fashion (at least not in public) about customers. It shows a complete lack of both consideration and professionalism and, while being fired (especially for a first offense) is a bit on the extreme side, they should definitely be disciplined.

It never ceases to amaze me how lenient the software industry is on things that, should they occur in a different industry, would result in firings and lawsuits. Insulting customers, delaying releases, releasing half-finished products, false advertising... unbelievable the crap software companies get away with.

    I agree with this statement.

So it's ok if everyone in the gaming world talks that way...as long as you aren't part of the dev team or such?

    Double standard. They are gamers.

At least when people like Rosie or Dave comment, you know they are capable of creating great stuff in game themself. But to dexella, I want to say this: "only people who do nothing take zero risk of failing".

    Worst community manager ever.

Is it just me, or does anyone else always read Jean-luc's posts starting with "Captain's log" lol.

Back on topic, I agree with you about dexella.
