MMORPG via a VPN what voice chat works ?

Hi , I'm having a lot of trouble trying to get a VOIP ( voice chat ) piece of software to work whilst playing a MMORPG. So skype cuts out after one hour with two in the chat , it cuts out every 5 mins with three in the chat. We also tried Ventrilo and tinychat , neither worked. The MMORPG we play has 5 exe files so split tunneling isn't an option really. So any advice or if we should install teamspeak or mumble or anything really would be great.We don't really want to use our cell phones as it will be most awkward. It's a shame the VPN doesn't allow you to tell it what you don't want going through it , would have made my life much simpler.

Any help will be most welcomed.

Never used skype for anything other than 1 to 1 chat with family members tbh, for games though the choices really, are between TS3, Ventrilo, and Mumble, lately i favour Mumble, use it all the time in Planetside 2, and it does seem to be very reliable.

We used skype for years with 3 of us in chat but yeah not so good with a VPN. Those you mentioned are our next steps really , the only thing with mumble though is there are lots of dodgy links with malware and I don't know the official one , are you allowed to link it here ? If not can anyone PM it please ? Also as far as TS3 goes I'm a bit lost with the host and client downloads , I should be the host with my 2 friends as the clients ? Is that right ?

I have downloaded mumble but if I join a server it seems they are all public so the three of us can't have a private room or server is that correct ? I really don't want to go through creating a server as my IP will change periodically with my VPN.
