Pretty much the same by what I hear... oh and yes housing is premium only so high level crafting is impossible on your own as a free player.
Not impossible, harder only because of the lp regen, but a f2p player can use a house and scarecrows shared by patron players.
Did you not read the underlined part?
No, sorry, im confuse now. We need a house for higher craft, thought you were talking about that, ...... it wasnt? Edit: im not english native, so its possible im missunderstand the sentence.
You can share your house with someone in your family or guild so you really only need 1 friend or guildmate to have one with the regal crafting stations.

So some of my basic understanding of how it's supposed to break down in US version...
You only get labor points when online if free to play. You can still lay in a bed every 20 real time hours to get around 120 labor points. Combining online time with this bed system you can achieve about 1/3 the pool of a paid subscriber per day if you are logged in for 8 hours or more per day. This can be done by running your mount in circles while afk at Mirage Island for all time you are not at the keys to get a bit over Half the subscriber amount per day.
However.....a house and farm you need subscription. House and farm allow for all the other things to be done in the game without your crops or animals being stolen.
On the flip side of all of this.
There is an auction house in the game where smart math people can buy low sell high to make whatever money they need to buy just about anything that others craft in the game.
Also there is the ability to create a family in the game (kind of like a very small list of friends) which is around 6 or 8 people. What this does is grant permission for others to use a subscriber's house and farm to plant things or store things. This is a way for some free to play people to safely grow things and craft in the game if they don't want to auction house for things.

There are public regal crafting stations (for the west) north of Wardton (Solzreed Peninsula) on the porch of a house there. I know that there are some on the East too, but not sure where. You don't need a house to do the higher level crafting.

My impression would be that 600 hours of computer use and the loss of power in that way would end up of more than 15-20 US $ difference in the power bill at the end at which point you are only fooling yourself into thinking that you are saving money.

I do not presume the money saving aspect of things. There are probably a bunch of people that leave a pc on all night. I used to leave my pc on with Ultima Online and ez macros going so I could get much better at magic resist etc overnight.
We really have no idea what the true financial situation will be with the cash shop for this game. There may be an optional purchase within the cash shop that allows for equal regen for free to play for a 24 hour period to subscribers. There also might be a way for free to play players to purchase a house blueprint or scarecrow from the online store. They would still have to find a place to put a house and scarecrow down and have the materials to do so. It is still a bit early how things will work to be honest. I fully expect these options I listed to end up costing a free to play player a bit more than the subscription fee to gain these abilities. The extra $$ would simply be due to the convenience of not having to pay up front continual fees to play the game, which has become a popular way to play games as of late.
I will simply subscribe to the game and may even purchase a few things from the cash shop from time to time if they appear interesting enough to warrant the extra $$. Time will tell.

If you are ready to pay the monthly fee, why are you worry about?
*snip*
Still, didnt understand much about your complain to be honest.

Why are you concerned OP? I have little interest in the subject as I will be subbing from day 1.
I don't think it would be a good idea to give F2P characters a good amount of LP's and a decent regen rate. It will help the ones with bad intentions like gold sellers etc
Originally posted by mcrippins The speculation is that free players will get 5 LP/5 and Patrons will get 10 LP/5. Either way I pretty much hate the labor points system. It's basically just a 2nd tier of limitation that seems almost unnecessary with the exception of a few systems in game. Truly - it's my only real dislike in the game.
Couldn't agree more... I haven't played yet so I'm not sure what the overall purpose of this limitation is, but as I have already posted it may be an attempt to make RMT a harder proposition. Hopefully things will become clear when I get my hands on the game during beta hopefully this month.
Sounds like a good way to keep botting under control. Mining uses the most LP and I just used 500 of my 1750 LP mining for a hour. Don't think I could stand 3 hours of mining anyway.
I am sure the exploiters and botters will be screaming bloody murder over this but it won't affect the average player much if any at all

Cannot farm, cook and trade because of these limitations...
not as a bot anyway LOL. You want to mine/craft 24 hours a day or something?
I just mined 150 ore then processed the ore and stone and still had over 2/3rd of my labor points left
Mining a node takes 5 LP, processing ore into ingots or stone into blocks 3 LP harvesting a tree takes 10 but since you can only grow16 aspen trees on a 16 x 16 plot that is inconsequential. Planting seeds takes no LP so maybe you want to explain in detail exactlyt how many hours you plan on mining, or processing to use up your LP ? With 4 toons per account per server at lvl 23 that would be over 7000 LP to burn through.

In RU premium is:
- Regen 5/5min 24h/day
- cap is 5k.
- Max 3 char per account and LP is account wise.
How is in Trion alpha?
4 characters on one server, 6 characters total per account
premium account regen is 5 points in 5 minutes, or 1400 per day per character 5600 for 4 toons on a server
lots of people doing a lot of crafting/mining on the Alpha and I don't see many or for that matter anyone complaining on this "issue". I could see where botters would hate it though.
I don't think the normal player is not going to mine for 5 or 6 hours straight. I have 2 toons, 2 8x8 farms and 1 16 x16 farm, mine 200 plus ore a day and never have ran out yet or even came close to running out. Of course I play like a normal person and farm for a bit, mine for a bit do some crafting then adventure for a bit. I have no desire to mine nodes for 5 hours straight no matter how profitable it may be
So is not account wise, its individual per char? and the limit is 1400 lp per char?
Sorry asking again, sometimes i have a little dificult with english
you are right I was wrong it is 1440 a day account wide.
Once again it does not seem to be much of a concern for people on the Alpha server and I rarely get below 1000 LP with my play style which contains a good bit of crafting. I went from from 18 to 21 doing nothing but crafting quests and crafting while killing mobs of opportunity for their drops and never ran low. Of course I was not crafting or mining the entire time and the stuff I was crafting was first tier.
I was keeping two 8x8 farms cranking out cotton and crafting it into fabric for cloth armor and selling the excess on the AH and had a full set of aspen going on my 16x16 farm tossing in some mining to break things up a bit. Most of that time though I was doing the Blue Salt Brotherhood crafting quests playing around with different vocations
Only place I could see it really affecting the game play is for someone who wants to camp the mining areas. Just speaking for myself but the mining areas are not that big and I don't want to see the same person camping the nodes 24 and 7. High end gear will eat up LP also but if you are crafting a set of gear that will sell for a couple of hundred gold then I don't see a issue there either.
If they allow free to play people to gain labor offline thats another nail in the coffin of this game. People will have 20 alt accounts making trade packs and feeding labor to their main patron account. So it undermines the whole system. Akin to how Pirates of the Burning Sea took a great system and completely ruined it when they went free to play.
This game isnt a free to play game, its a sub game that allows you to see it for free. They just call it free to play because it gets cheapskates excited. If you dont pay anything you really shouldnt get anything but access to the game world.

Currently the regen on Alpha is 10 every 5m; so 2880/day.

Jackdog: I said farm and cook not mine and craft, big bloody difference if you are not a metalovore.
The fact people are still to this day concerned or arguing over f2p issues proves that f2p should not even exist. If the developer needs which of course they do ,an ongoing income to maintain and improve a game then EVERYONE should be paying a set fee.
As for botting,i am very disappointed that still to this day developers just don't care about repercussions to the game ,gamer's want to love and enjoy. This is why you do NOT want an ALT game ...EVER and you do not want f2p and there are of course many other reasons as well such as banned means nothing,cheating/exploiting means nothing, simply make another player for FREE and send all the resources to a main player.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

Or P2P needs to be abolished and F2P promoted through non-invasive payment means but hey have fun wishing humanity still lived in caves.
About the Labor points system, i dont see it as a issue or a anooying feature. See it more as a chalenge, something you need to use it in a wise way and the way it is help alot the economy beetween players.
It is the equivalent of telling a PvPer that he can only kill x players per day. After those players are dead you can not participate in your favorite thing in game until your kills allowed recharge.
There are ways to keep a healthy economy without telling crafters their ability to have fun is a resource.
You mean like how most games that have some kind of an honor system for pvp won't let you farm the same person over and over.

In fact i like the payment model used in AA. When i start playing in RU i start as a f2p player and stay this way during a week untill i decide the game worth my Money and be premium since then.
In NA/EU players can do the same after release day, start as a f2p and check if want to give them Money, because to all those who really like the game will pay for it soon or later, all the others will play a little, scream on forums and move on.
Other things i like of this model:
- I will be patron, but if i dont pay a month i still be able to logg in and play.
- My daugther can play with me and we dont need 2 monthly fees like others p2p games.
About cheating doesnt need to be f2p players, p2p also do it, we dont even need to buy a account in AA, just pay the monthly fee.
