So what they did here was take a RPG with choice alignment, story and open world. Then they took out the RPG, the choice alignment (you pick a side not your action affect your character), the story from what i can tell from the game is almost non-existent but it's the closest part because as a MOBA it doesn't have an open world (granted fable series never had skyrim open world).

So what they did was take out 3 of the 4 features of the original series, watered down the last feature and turned it into a game in a genre that is different to the original games.

I know they are trying to branch out but this goes a bit far. I was cool with it until I found out it wasn't even an RPG. I know people didn't like fable 3 for whatever reason but for all its' faults, for all its' negatives it was still a RPG. You still got armor, you still got better spells, you still had the dang choice alignment system (yes that was a big part of the game as it was previously what lionhead was known for. I mean their other game was called black and white, and had 2 creatures saying you can follow the path of good or evil). THis isn't a choice alignment system this is just picking a side and the sides aren't even the same this is just do you want to play as a human or a big ogre, do you want 3rd person or over the top view. Okay your alignment is decided. This is so far away from what the original game was supposed to be they mind as well just called it League of legends: Fable and just put this on as an expansion to that game. Because thats what this is.

Argh Lionhead needs to go back to making the fable series to what made it popular but make it better, so disappointed. The only plus to all this, it means i won't have to buy an X-Box one now like i thought i did when i first watched the trailer

Thanks for the post coorsguys, helped me to not make a purchase of this game and i can move onto other games.

Help me Bioware, you're my only hope.

Is ToR going to be good? Dude it's Bioware making a freaking star wars game, all signs point to awesome. -G4tv MMo report.

Okay granted yeah I didn't get that from one multiplayer video, I did however get that feeling (unless this is extremely misleading) from their webiste:

    • Rediscover The Magic of Fable

Return to Albion, a picturesque land full of thrilling stories, exciting combat, and high adventure. It’s no surprise that millions of players have visited and adored the welcoming countryside of this once upon a time storyland. “Fable Legends” brings you to a place where history, myth, and folklore are practically the same thing. Of course you’ll also find monsters, villains, and even the occasional disaster, but you shouldn’t take it too seriously. Albion is a unique fantasy land where epic, tragic, and comedic stories all combine for a one of a kind experience. (this is the PR bit saying how great it is, doesn't tell us what kind of game it is)

    • New Ways to Play the Hero

In “Fable Legends”, you’re never completely alone. You can play the game single player, with a party of three heroic AI companions that follow your lead through stories and adventures (here it shows it has to be 4 parties, just whether they are AI or not is the question). Or you can play cooperatively with up to three friends and discover the game’s quests and content together. Play whatever style you want, when you want. After all, you’re the Hero. And just what kind of Hero you choose to play is up to you. “Fable Legends” takes you back to a time when Albion is teeming with Heroes, so there’s bound to be one for you. Fearless warriors. Cunning tricksters. Masters of Will. Paragons of virtue. Heartless mercenaries. Intoxicated brawlers. Chicken chasers. They’re all here, and many more besides. You’ll be able to customize your abilities, alter your appearance, and advance your Hero by earning experience and finding new armour, weapons, and treasures (okay i'll concede here theres RPG elements here, though i think it still doesn't take it out of the MOBA territory).

    • Or Is Evil Your Thing?

Fable has always presented opportunities for mischief and villainy, and in “Fable Legends” we’re going to offer a way to play the bad guy as never before. The Villain player takes control of the many creatures, minions, traps, and environmental hazards that Heroes must overcome. Villain play combines elements of strategic decision making and tactical control. When those pitiful Heroes enter an area, you’ll choose which minions are sent into battle and where to place these creatures to maximize their effectiveness. Once the fight begins, you issue the orders for your creatures to execute: telling them where to go, which Hero to attack, and what abilities to use to ensure your evil plans come to fruition. (the way the game works makes it so it doesn't look like you can switch between good and evil because then you'd have to morph from one of the 4 heroes to a gigantic ogre type creature with your choices

Unless i'm very much mistaken this is still a multiplayer game as nothing in the description says its like the original game. In fact beyond the buying new gear, they don't say anything on the website about the actual world, this multiplayer match is the only thing they show. Why only show one bit? why not show at least one clip of the normal RPG world. If there are indeed openish worlds, and things of the orignal game, they certainly don't show it well and by well i mean at all.

I'm still scrounging the website but heres the link: http://www.fablelegends.com/news

It makes as far as i found so far any mention at all of open worlds, or changing alignment. They make a mention of RPG elements so i'll concede there, but i'll have to wait and see how that turns out. Again as far as i can tell from everything they have said on their website I don't see the original fable like game I see a MOBA with RPG elements in it.

Help me Bioware, you're my only hope.

Yeah its clear you are jumping the gun on your doom and gloom about Fable.  Yes there is a multiplayer option but if you read that link...yes you can play solo.  There is not a lot of info out yet so i would hold off on the doom and gloom.

Yes you can play solo but as it stated in the part you didn't quote it says if you play solo the other slots are taken up by AI companions. Can you show me where the actual solo bit is (not the multiplayer with AI the actual solo bit where you run around the world). Plus the website makes no mention of this other part, just the mulitplayer bit, why not at least mention it, like in a coming soon part.

    Cool video.

Not making any judgment yet. I'm just going to wait till I know it's more like the first one(Thought that was just a great game).

What i've gotten from this game so far, you got a central hub (thats the town) right now according to LH that will be the main town they may add more later probably DLC,  you can visit other towns in your quests but i don't think you can pick up quests there (more needs to be shown here). You pick one of 4 herores (a rogue, a mage, a warrior or a ranger they state they will add more later, again probably can buy them) or the villian to play as which puts you in dungeon master mode where you set traps and monsters down, think dungeon keeper (no word of being able to make a hero into villian and really sounds like you pick this at the start when you start up the game or in this sense the match)

You get items from loot or winning the match that you can use to upgrade ie customize your choosen hero no word so far as i found on whether you can upgrade the villian but i suppose you could maybe get better troops?. You can look to games like league of legends and it's ilk to get an idea of what the game is like. This description of the game has reaming pretty stable for the last year that its' a co-op game where 4 people fight against a villian. (based on the few videos, 5 or so ranging from just recently back to oct of 2013), though no release date is set people speculate it will be out later this year which makes sense as things announced at E3 usually are announced to hype it up for christmas time.

    This is the 2013 one:

This one is a vague due to PR speak but here you go:

Edit: and this is just starting to make it sound more and more like it: Unlike other games in the series, Fable Legends is essentially a dungeon crawler, with little in the way of villager interaction, purchase of property, morphing due to alignment, etc.

You can do stuff in town though like the following: the player can customize their hero's weapons, looks, armor, abilities and more. Like many other games in the franchise, heroes can also use expressions to interact with villagers. In the hub-city of Brightlodge, players have the opportunity to partake in jobs, play mini-games and enjoy pub games.

Help me Bioware, you're my only hope.

I dont know why your being so bitter OP, you can see clearly that this is nothing like Fable 1, 2, and 3 which is probably why they dont call it Fable 4. Not that theres anything wrong with that but this is not personally what I look for in a fable game.  I agree with the other guy whos been posting before me.
