They banned farmers before and they continue to do so. 700 macro'd farmer bots just last month. Got nothing to do with people trying to buy and sell. A bot is a bot and should be banned, period. They have been and will continue to combat this as best they can, just like any other company.
This is not a valid point to this argument. People ALREADY farm and bot to get stuff and sell it. How does changing which party is brokering the exchange of items going to affect this illegal bannable violation? It won't.

Its not, but a person can sell their personal account they have had for a year. A person can sell some extra plat for a few bucks. But when you have monopolies on camps and such from handling it as a direct business and trying to earn as much per hour as they can THEN it becomes a problem because it hinders people that are trying to get the item via in game legitimate means.
I can be doing a cool camp in EQ 1 one night and get a rare loot that I don't need. I can sell it in game or out and it effect the in game "economy" the same. However if a pharmer sits at the same camp with 6 automated scripts that are assisting him and stays there for an entire day stopping lets say 15 other people from getting it then it begins to effect gameplay.
There is no true economy in almost ANY MMO. The only thing that can be effected by pharming is them monopolising spawns. THAT ruins gameplay.

Someone said earlier that SOE created servers that did not offer station exchange as a response to criticism from players. This is false.
They intended from the beginning to offer servers that did and did not participate so as to not alienate those who were against it.
I don't understand people whining about station exchange, since if you don't like the idea, you can play on a server that doesn't allow it, and it won't effect you one iota. Stop preaching about what other people should or should not do when it doesn't effect you.
The reality is, that those of you who don't like it, will benefit from it, because most farmers will transfer to station exchange servers, and SOE will be more vigilant about stopping outside sales that don't flow through station exchange, since those sales will now be taking money away from SOE.
There is a huge difference between brokering sales of items derived honestly from the game environment vs creating items out of thin air for sale. I would never play a game which sold items created out of thin air, but if the items are earned in game without bots and macros or dupes and hacks, then let people sell their extra stuff thru station exchange.

Its like watching someone get murdered and thinking wow how awful, that guys gonna go to jail for life for what he did. Then listening to people around debate whether or not the victim deserved it or if murder is really all that bad anymore. Sheesh guys dont you have any moral fiber ? And there's a big difference between officially sanctioning something and it being a quiet underground thing where its not all that common. The game will go from 10% items being bought to 50% or more. Yes I knew it occurred, but it wasnt accepted by SOE and allegedly they should be banned for it. Heck, SOE used to ban peeps for credit duping. Now they themselves will be doing it. I gotta stop logging in here. You kids are giving me an ulcer. Oh and by the way, my wife is a doctor so I dont have any issues with being able to buy in-game items.
Well comparing selling virtual items to murder certainly gives us a clear insight into your unstable state of mind for starters.
In any case perhaps you would like to outline the negative effects on the gaming industry or any single game YOU CAN ACTUALLY SHOW FACTS ABOUT not just more opinion based on nothing. Especially those that compare directly to a negative effect that has the same ramifications of the killing of another human being.
If you cannot then I strongly suggest you do exactly what you have stated and not come here anymore because this community would certainly be better off without bizzarre and baseless assertions such as yours.

Well as many say if you cant beat em mise well join them SoE has tried for years too stop ebay sells hell even ebay suppose to cancel them auctions as soe has asked them before but since it cant be stopped hell soe mise well do it themselves.Smart move for them since they cant stop the illegal sells of their product on ebay they gonna go ahead do themselves.I dont agree with online sells neither and SoE never agreed with they simply gonna try and save their own copyrighted stuff .

That's the point and it's a valid one, since it's a derivative of selling on-line items. If SOE wants to fascilitate that environment, that's their own right and issue.
Ico Oh, cruel fate, to be thusly boned. Ask not for whom the bone bones. It bones for thee.
