UI annoyances

Anyone know how to turn off the hints and the thing that says to pick stuff up? These are incredibly annoying as they obscure a significant portion of the screen.

 

I tried turning it off in the options, the thing that says "show hotkey for item pickup" is unchecked. It still shows up with a giant chat bubble when I get near quest givers.

 

I don't really want to turn off the ENTIRE UI just to get rid of those if at all possible...

    No Idea. Been trying all day. The UI is just awful.
