I would love it. Mounts might actually keep me interested in GW2.

Please read the article before posting. He is talking about a cosmetic mount with no speed bonus. Will not effect travel in any way.

Dear God I would love a mount. Just another way to customize your toon. It's the one negative I have with GW2, besides not releasing an expac.  I still have hope LS2 will add some love there. But back to the mount.....PLEASE add mounts!

GW2 doesn't need mounts. Not every mmorpg needs mounts.

But it would be a bonanza for the gem store.

I would like mounts AND only 1 waypoint per zone.

This is one of the reasons why don't I play this game all the time, don't get me wrong its a good game. However, I thought mounts would make the game feel more alive in that perspective, we shall see.

Ideally they should get rid of waypoints and add mounts.  They can give a standard mount to every player and offer fancier versions in the cash shop.

    That would be very cool.

The game you are looking for requiring no PvE completion and where you can just jump in and start mindlessly shooting at people is that way - >>>>

    ... it's called an FPS.

Quit ruining the MMORPG genre with your constant "PvE grind" whines.

    Do it like:

Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing

You go through everything and you are allowed to reach infinite speeds by going backwards.

I think the world of GW2 is pretty dense comparing to other MMO(which imo is definitely a good thing), but drawback is that the maps are really small...

I've wondered quite a few times why people get so defensive about adding mounts to GW2. The "game doesn't *need* it" argument makes no sense. The game doesn't *need* mini games or housing, but people seem to be all for it, but not mounts. Anything that's added to a game should be looked at as a positive. I bet it would bring quite a few people back in the door as well. Oh well, mounts will most likely never happen. ANet hasn't even delivered on half the stuff that's supposed to be in the game by now.

well 2 years have passed since Anet was totally negative for moments and their fanboyz followed their perspective. I was against it, cause i love mounts. I will gladly accept them, but it will be a step back for Anet developers. And there is a fear they will do the same for awesome parts like NO-HolyTrinity, like Dynamic Events etc ... So i can understand why some people raged or become negative, but that game is a visual candy, why not having mounts ?!!?!

It would make more sense than say Neverwinter having them.

But by design the came works against having mounts. Think about how content is delivered. The dynamic events system works because you're just running around and things happen and you join in. I've traveled half the map not even realizing because I was just noticing things happening and joined in. Mounts encourage people to get from point A to point B and avoid dismounting. That runs contrary to the idea of stopping to fight along the way and help the common folk. It's definitely a quest hub game feature.

I always say as long as what someone else buys does not ruin my gaming experience i have no quarrel with them buying or spending their money on whatever they want whether it be mounts or otherwise. I think more people need to stop thinking that the MMO is just for them and think about whats best for everyone not just themselves. No matter what someone decides to spend there money on and buy, as long as it doesn't effect you or your experience what do you care.

The only time really anything really matters is in a competition mode like PvP really and nowadays MMOS are designed in a way that no matter what anyone buys or how much gold/credits they have it cannot give them an advantage on anything competitive like PvP! So really when someone buys anything from a shop like a mount or whatever if it is only effecting that person's solo/PvE experience and not no one else's then i think the problem is why does that person complaining care so much about how someone else spends their money and plays their game.

They could add a Dolyak mount in the itemshop, no problems. But the thing is that there doesn't seems to be any horses in Tyria and a rather limited selections of other possible animals for that purpose.

I rather have them adding guildhalls instead and put the effort into something more useful, mounts were really good in the huge MMOs of the past but even GW2 that is fairly large compared to games like AoC have very little benefit from mounts.

If they made a expansion specifically with mount focus things would be different, and a similar system to underwater with mount specific weapons (and anti mount weapons like halberd). It could open up new amazing PvP, knights tournament and much more but adding mounts to the game like it is just now is to waste resources they could use better.

this, they already have content which is abandoned like home instances in the home towns ... better 'fix'' these, than bring mounts ..
