Anyone else notice how Tabula Rasa did something very close to a complete 360 complete transmutation? I used to think it looked kinda cool with it's techno-organic look. The animations and stuff were pretty cool too. Now it just looks like a futuristic shooter mmo, borrowing alot from a sort of CS'ing look. I don't like it and probably won't follow the game anymore. I'm just amazed at how drastically they changed it. It's kinda sad because I think what they had before was better, even if the graphics are a little better now.

In Richar Garriot we believe.
I agree that the changes make it a mmofps, but reading Richard comments on E3 I preffer not to make any judgement before trying it.
I will admit to feeling letdown on this one as well. From the articles in magazines published last year at this time, to the news at E3, the game almost does not deserve to be called TR anymore.
I'm personally let down. The origional artwork was gorgeous. Now it looks just like starship troopers online. Story sounds like it too. Meh.
Oh well I've felt that Richard Gariott was a pompous fool anyway, since he IS the self-proclaimed "Inventor of the online gamespace." Sure Ricky, keep telling yourself that.... I think you should go sit in this nice padded room with Peter Molyneaux.
The story hasn't really changed from the original.
It's not really a fps either.
It's third person mode, with a aiming thing that you control with mouselook; but it's sticky style targeting, and when you shoot, wether it hits depends on your skills and character abilities. So this is still a true RPG where you develop your character, rather than having everything rely on twitch ability. The combat system just makes it feel like an fps.
evenworst.... FPS reject characters in RPG
