its alpha lite, because it is the westernization of a failed game. Granted alot of the changes intorduced the other day help it fail but it is still a new version. Or is supposed to be.

Trion has a habit of taking on horrible games and trying to make them playable. First was Defiance, now maybe AA. If they dont have anymore say than what people have seen then they shouldnt have taken it on in the first place.

But regardless it will eventually turn into a borderline pay to win game with a massive cash shop and little to no reason to subscribe. The sooner people realize that the better off they are.

people invest way too much money and emotion into these fledgling games and think of them as their own personal play ground when the fact is these companies dont care about making a good game or an awesome game or an epic game they want to make a game that will make money.

What alpha people want to forget is they already have  our money so theyre already way ahead of us, what we think or say really doesnt matter one bit. Unless you want to try and do a chargeback opn your credit card because theyre not refunding money any other way.

This game is a long way from release and people freaking out over every thing they see every time a change is made is just going to drive them crazier than they already are.

All you guys are quite funny. Nobody cares if you think the game sucks or not, since it is free to play to a large degree and everybody can take an informed decision before making any payment... Except of cours those special flowers who buy their way into an alpha. But well, for that kind of specialness there is no remedy.

I tried the game in Russia already and am very sure I will play and and almost sure it will be a casual sidegame for me. I might pay something when the sandbox-elements manage to catch my attention, which I slightly doubt.

You already got that feeling of "totally not interested" when skimming the above paragraph? See?

You can say more effort for gear is better, I agree, but in ArcheAge it's just grinding, just what the Koreans love. Leveling from 51-55 in the content patch we'll get when our version will be released (couple months/year), will be a huuuuge grind. Going from 49-50 requires about 250k XP, 50-51 over 3 million XP and it scales up. How to reach this? Grind the new Library dungeon (that we can already play on Alpha now).

Want to get a very good weapon? Grind Hasla (a zone that has mobs dropping runes to craft various high-end weapons), literally nobody will tell you it's fun, it's horrid, but they still do it because they want to be competitive in this PvP game.

Large number of players actually grind PvE mobs for couple hours to get some gold in Alpha. This game is not for casual players, grinders will love it though.

For me this game is just way too much grinding and will be more grindy with patch 1.2 and 55 level cap. Don't expect to play for 3 hours a day and be competitive.

I guess I am a grinder... that sounds fun to me.  I hate PvP but this game has me interested in it.  I see (for me at least) its going to be heavily dependent on how well I get along with my guild.  But open to try.  I love the classes and skill selection so far but only level 13 on Omega (I have a 22 on Alpha).

Those complaining about the game are a bit pre-mature.  There are so many unknown factors at this point.  Let the game release and give it a good 1-2 months to burn in then come back an whine.

So far this is looking like my new game.  I dropped subs to Wildstar and ESO yesterday.

    Was it worth your 150$????

Yes and No. This has been one of the most fun games i've played in years. Had a great time, and played everytime since alpha. This patch to me kinda reminds me of the NGE except nowhere near as harsh.

150 dollars isn't enough for me to consider. Its like buying a pack of gum.  Then again my MMO monthly budget is 1,000 dollars.

I am currently enjoying ArcheAge. I have to get involved with the PvP to see how much of an impact it will have on my fun.  I do see guilds being very important and I need to pick the right one.

This is why you don't pay $150 for a F2P game that hasn't even released yet.  Also, how do you drop $150 on a game that you haven't researched?  I mean, all you have to do is go look at the XLGames Korean and Russian versions to know the direction the US version is headed lol.  I don't understand how you didn't see this coming and how someone spends $150 on a game that will be out soon and F2P smh.

On a separate note, I am looking forward to playing AA.  It will be nice to play a game that's not on insta easy mode and a little bit of a throw back to the old school feel.  I used to be pretty hyped about this title but I have learned to not get over hyped about games anymore.  I'll prolly play and even subscribe, as that will be cheaper than the CS prolly.  Just hoping this game is decent since it sounds like I enjoy some of the mechanics and old school feel and the fact that you need a guild and need to group etc.

Protip: $150 isn't a lot of money for a lot of people. FFS, it's just a couple of good night's at the bar. Not everyone has to ask their mommy for money, or makes their living inside a food court.
