Originally posted by Kopogero Based on this poll so far half of the community is not willing to pay a monthly fee for what's available out there. This just proves that it's not us the MMO gamers, but it's the lack of quality MMO's out there we are willing to pay $ on. What's depressing is the fact that 20% have just given up on the genre for the time being and are involved with other activities.Further, this poll was brought month after WildStar release (which was highly hyped and what's suppose to be a high quality, WOW polished clone). Months before Wildstar ESO came out as B2P+P2P as well. Overall, all I can say is I'm proud of this community that is pushing the genre forward and voting wisely with their wallets.I expect if things continue in this direction we would be fortunate to see another great AAA MMO that would be DIFFERENT from what we've been seeing dominanting and controlling the market for the last decade.
Uh what? Poll shows the majority playing pay to play.
Clearly if they are on this site, they aren't playing anything. And this site is free... what's that say? Would they come here if they had to pay a fee?

You never heard of mult-tasking and multi-boxing?
Yes I have and typically that usually means, not doing either thing particularly well. Try to ride a bike underwater while flapping your arms like a bird... proof that multi-tasking and multi-boxing is a farce.
On a site that's focused about MMO's where its players are most involved or have been with MMO's in the past, seeing half of them not willing to pay a small sum monthly to play a MMO is quite alarming. This is the type of market that is suppose to be "easiest" for the MMO producer/developer to lure into paying for MMO, but this poll cleary shows that the level of awareness is growing and half of the players in the poll are discontent with what's currently available out there so far.

It's a good sign for us MMO gamers
No. Your question and poll asked what type of pay model people are currently playing. You cant just twist that data into what people are willing to pay. You can't assume that just because someone is currently playing f2p or b2p or p2p, that they have exclusive interest in only their current one.

obvious polls on this site are not representative.
