I so much hate the word endgame, why are endgame 2-3 dungeons you have to do hundreds of times to get the gear you want then it will be obselete when the next update goes live.
Why has this obselete gameplay been so popular, why do you like this kind of gameplay?, I mean as soon as you got everything you have you have start all over again, everything you have invested, time, money are gone.
Why do you like endgame?
Endgame should take years to get to
spend years just to play a single game? I will pass.
This is why I've been enjoying games like Minecraft or DayZ rather than MMOs recently. There's no endgame, you just keep going on an adventure the way YOU want it.

Now this I do agree with. End game in MMO's should be a reward for a long journey, definitely not something handed to someone a few weeks after beginning to play.
I always imagine a bawling 8 year old crying because he only got 34 presents at his birthday and he had 38 the year before when people complain about MMORPG's taking too long to play. If it's taking too long for you to enjoy it, you probably don't enjoy the game anyway, and won't enjoy it when you get to the end. Common sense is a lost ability.
Currently Playing: ESO and FFXIV Have played: You name it If you mention rose tinted glasses, you better be referring to Mitch Hedberg.
End for me is more of a singleplayer game phrase that should only be applied when the game is finished and I mean like a movie finished, credits rolling you get the point.

That is just semantics.
Will it make you happier if it was called "game at max level" instead?
I only see a few who call Diablo a MMORPG,,,,,but then they will say its a MMO and drop the RPG part...then they will call it an ARPG in the same breath.
Conclusion....some like to argue semantics and try to re-define the meaning based on their topic they want to prove.
And then they complain that MMOs suck because they are single player games...which is funny because thats what they asked for and the companies have done exactly what they asked. Sold them a single player game and called it a MMORPG because they are similar.

Really?
If i kept throwing a 20 side dice, I do expect I am likely to get a different roll than my last one. Am I crazy?
What you get Nari is a number 1 to 20 every time, seeming randomness inside a fixed set of results. As to whether you are crazy, come on, you can't ask me that.

Who is doing that?
I think MMOs are great when they are single player games.

That's a SPRPG not an MMO.

Just semantics. Lots of MMOs can be played as a SPRPG .. like marvel heroes, STO, .....

I have found that you use the term MMO to mean whatever you want at the time. Just an observation.

i am just following gaming sites like this one, or review sites. Don't tell me you don't know that STO and marvel heroes are classified as MMOs.
Yeah ... a bit arbitrary .. but it is convenient .. which is what i always say .. it is just a convenient label, meaning very little. Otherwise, why are review sites and industrial research companies calling WoT a MMO?

As Nari well knows we have had this discussion many, many, times before. The industry calls everything a MMO because it is a convenient label which the gaming public understands. It also links their game to a genre that has greats like WoW, EQ and so on. The game in question may be nothing like a MMO but it adds some shine to their product by association.
Likewise the "World of" title is not a coincidence, WoT and the rest use that to catch your eye. No one is going to think it can be like WoW, but WoW is a huge IP, and huge IP's catch the eye.
It is all down to marketing, review sites and research companies following the language of the marketing. Not always; MOBA, MMOFPS and the like. Lets use them as they make more sense.

nah .. let's use them as they are convenient.
Of course you use it the way you like, and I use it the way i like. Problem solved.
