I had heard from my cousin that he was playing a game that made it possible to play with several people online at the same time in a 3D enviroment and that if I wanted I could try it on his account when I visited him. That was my first step into the world of Everquest.
Now, I started off playing as a Dark elf seeing it was and still is my favored race, and I won't ever forget the feeling of playing my very first mmorpg.
My fondest memory in that game was when I met a couple of players that was levitating around and I was baffled that you could actually do it! They were kind enough to tell me all about the game within their realm of knowledge and also told me that they would help me out in the game.
I absolutely loved that game from day one and I have yet to get the same feeling in any other game.
