the CU is awesome

in Star Wars Galaxies

I came back to try it out and its great.  Basically they put the war back in star wars, ranged professions finally get the power they were lacking so badly in the old system.  The time of the marksman has come!  The new content of Kashyyyk is great and was badly needed.  There are so many quests, some of which have space phases along with ground phases.  It all ties in very nicely.  The quest rewards are sweet too.  I finished a hard quest in the Rryat trail and recieved the Proton Carbine, as a BH Carbineer its the best quest reward I have ever gotten in swg.  Being a vet I quickly slapped my anti decay kit on it! :)

Anyway if you are considering coming back or trying SWG as a new player, the time is now!  Any new players who would like some help starting out, try the Tarquinas Galaxy and send me a /tell.

    Ive been considering it but my fetish is crafting and resource gathering, a year and a half ago crafting was hard for a newbie to get into, cant imagine how it is now.

    the crafting is definately different but if you were interested I could get you set up in the guild I am in and help you get started crafting.  There are many new armors and weapons and I have access to alot of resources to help get any crafter started.

    hey, im coming back to SWG in a month or two(once i get enough for my computer), i used to be a m smuggler/m bh with a little or pistoleer(i think),if you don't mind, i will contact you once i join

    its not that bad at all.  with a group, as long as you register one hit on the mob everyone gets full exp.  With the right group of friends getting exp is a breeze.

    well welcome back and feel free to contact me.  I can tell you now that your old template is AWESOME in the CU.  You will be amazed.  It took me a few days to learn the new specials and way the HAM works now.  I have been online everyday since I came back.  If you also get the expansion, my group has alot of experience on Kashyyyk and can help you do the quests.  We are currently going up to an asteroid called the Avatar Platform, a space station where the wookies are taken once they are enslaved by the Trandoshans.  A buddy of mine has a YT-1300 (milenium falcon type ship) and we all fly up to it together, land on it and the adventure begins.

    Come on back and try it out!

    we would be greatful to have any but the resources I have are for weaponsmith.  New multi passenger ground vehicles come out tomorrow so an artisan can make those too.  WE are an easy going guild and would welcome and help any crafters!

     

    Not sure about Valcyn but it would be worth a look im sure! :)

    Master Artisian Master Weaponsmith it is, congrats you have convinced me to come back(I was a huge fan, spent alot to attend the fan fest and its actually sort of a relief to be interested in SWG again). I'm going out to get The Total Experience as soon as I can, Is SOE paying you for this because they should be. I have actaully been a Master WS and artisian before so I know what I am doing :) (ran a pretty successful store, I know I had around 10 million credits when I quit).

    When i get the box ill be a noob to the game so if possible can you tell me what class is suitable if any or show me a link to a website to a noob guide.
    After watching Star Wars EP 3 ive just been crazy about it :P

    Just wanted to check, this IS the same CU that resulted in players jacking in the game and leaving in droves?

    The same CU that means 0XP from MoB that are below your CL, including quest creatures inthe new World of Wookiee expasion?

    The Same CU that has XP caps for starter professions set at 75% of the amount required for the novice elite professions above them?

    The same CU that made it nigh on impossible for dedicated crafters, entertainers and non-combat double elite masters to do much more than collect wounds that can no longer be healed as there are no docs?

    Surely not!

    Because if it was you'd be talking about the same game that pushed beta code to Live for publish 16 (Rage of the Furballs) resulting in gated missions, lost rewards, lost XP, lost skills.

    Then, just when you thought that nobody could make a mistake like that again, they push Publish 17 to Live today with serious CTD bugs (open your inventory with certain items in it and CTD taking all players in the same area with you. Call particular pets in a public area and CTD everyone in a 100m radius) despite tehse having been identified as fatal bugs during the 5 days of testing this major publish was given....

    ... then having to take all servers back out of service because the codes so broke its unworkable.

    ... while your forums (Sony Station) 'conveniently' develop a log in bug that prevents players getting on their and flaming the dev's for yet another foul up. Just as well we can't post comments like this on Sony's forums, they ban you for criticising them nowadays.

    Shadow, dont worry too much about starting class. You dont really choose one. You get XP in the classes that you use and you start with a point in all of them. Right now, I've got several points of Artisan, several points of Marksman (Carbines), a few points in Medical (or whatever its called...) a few points in Scout. I'm eventually going for Droid Engineer, Starship Engineer.

    Yes, there is still a lot of work to be done before it can be called good. But its adequate and its working ... much better than the old system. And not as boring by far.

    Well my mom had the car so I walked.... almost 90 degrees outside and took about 1 hour to best buy and 1 hour back(had a gift card!). But I have it, I'm hoping you are online

    Heres a question, I still have my account from my first time around this game(pre-JTL). Now I also have this total experience account(I'm thinking maybe I will be one of those hardcore freaks with multiple accounts :P), will I get access to the 2 expansions with my old empire divided account?

    I THINK you can use TE to activate the expansions on your old account...but if you go 2 accounts, your old account will NOT have access to the expansions without paying for them.

    I'm gonna keep pushing Starsider...I want more RPers! ::::01::

    Hrmm well I think I'll be using 1 account for my crafting(the one without the expansions I guess would be the best choice) and then one for combat and stuff : /.

    Ok it says my status is initial and my subscription is 1 month but then I try to log in and it says I have no subscription. Is there no free trial period or do I need to put in a credit card?

    i understand where you are coming from , but im telling you I have been enjoying it alot. Having a great group of friends that play makes alot of difference, luckily thats what I have. I haven't had any troubles with expansion quests, i have been having alot of fun with it. I understand being sceptical, i do not work for SOE, this game is a great state now, there are tons of things to do. true about the xp for creatures lower than you but in a group you can fight things way higher than yourself. I got 300k exp on the avatar platform in 2 hours and Im already lvl 80. try it out im serious
