As far as I know, you still can't loot a player you've killed. And as far as I'm concerned, that's a good thing. We don't need any more griefers.
Though to be brutally frank, I wouldn't call the game "care bear" when there are still people who will agree to no DB in a supposedly friendly duel, then send you straight to the cloners. I won't even discuss the many bounty hunters that take repeat missions on the same jedi and cloner camp them.
Less angry little pk kids = better game experience for all
I think UO and L2 are the only games that allow that.
SWG will keep it's carebear status as long as it maintains it's TEF system and the incap state. Lol, I really hate those two.
One of the reasons I left SWG the first time was due to watching 20 imperials hide in a cantina, while there was maybe 5 of us outside.
Not to sound like a Blizzard fanboi, but I believe they made a great decision with their server setup. Having pvp, pve, and rp servers allows players to choose the environment they want to play in.
Ico Oh, cruel fate, to be thusly boned. Ask not for whom the bone bones. It bones for thee.

I'm not a big fan of the system myself, but it does add an extra element of loss to pvp. It's no big deal when a crafted item is taken, it can be a big deal when your primary 'uber l337 can of whoopass' weapon is.

Having pvp, pve, and rp servers allows players to choose the environment they want to play in. --> Having experienced both systems I prefer the civilian/combatant (PvE)/ special forces (pVP) / on leave system of SWG over the WoW system. Its not fun to see how low level characters are "harvested" like NPC by high level rogues (including corpse camping) on PvP servers ... all that for "honor" points ... HA ! The "on leave" status is missing in WoW ... allowing people to do important quests without getting killed 6 times. At least in SWG I can choose how much attackable I am. --> Have fun, Erillion
That's why Blizzard has PvE servers, you can choose to pvp or not.
I haven't seen any 'harvesting' of lower level players for honor points on my server. Why? Because folks realized that doing so isn't effecient for accruing contribution points, and it's just boring. Same with corpse camping, of which I've had no problem with anyway.
I knew that they had modified the TEF system, just forgotten that it's no longer strictly overt/covert. Admitedly, my return after the CU was too short to really get a feel for the new system.
Do 'combatants' still cower in cantinas waiting for that 'perfect' time to attack the special forces outside?

Not sure...doubtful. What games have you played aside from UO that has full loot, though?

No.
And just about every new game has no looting in PvP. UO Pkers was a hard enough lesson.
Have fun

Actually, L2 isn't even full loot. You have a CHANCE of dropping an item when you die. That chance is higher if your a PK.
