You know things change.

Mats are worth much more these days due to ascended weapon and armor crafting.

The wardrobe made armor and weapon skins more valuable - good looking weapon skins like a level 1 Krytan +power greatsword can sell for 40s.

That is why gold sinks like the traits were added to the game.

As a former player coming back today, where would I start with my lvl 80 to enjoy all this new content? My wife and I are standing in the burning rubble of Lion's Arch, scratching our heads.

Go to Brisban Wildlands the very southwestern corner - there is now a gate leading to the new area.

Yea...that happened to some of my friends coming back as well. I do hope that they add the Living Story Season 1 for free sometime in the future. I love the implementation of LS2 so far. There will be a break soon, unfortunately, to make room for the PvP/WvW feature pack on September 9th.
