pretty much bro dont get me wrong i like the game but they are getting serious payday on this...they already filled servers on alpha and closed beta was a huge ploy to get more people to pay in after the very limited CEB1....they could have left it open but that would mean they cant sell more founders packs... read this...
If this is your game, I'd say play it now and get it out of your system so you can experience the game as it should be experienced before the experience gets all diluted and polluted with Micro-Transactions.
I really, really want to play right now but 150.00 is a bit much to do that. I'd spring for the 100.00 option but since the benefits of that package are all on the back end I'll wait. Its a smart move on Trion's part but I won't pay 100.00 now for what I can get tracking beta event key giveaways.

since when f2p were cheap?
you'd think they'd be free to play...
From everything I've seen it's meant to be a sub game, with free options to try it out. A free player can do most everything a patron can do but it would take much, much longer. Nothing wrong with that to my eyes.

Well a trial isn't F2P. If they are calling it F2P then it should be and not be using gating to extreme levels.
To my knowledge the only game play option not available if you don't sub is the ability to own a plot of land for a house. This makes sense since the housing is open world. All other benefits are time of completion enhancements such as LP gain.
That said we all have our opinions on what "free to play" means. For me it's the ability to log in and play, not necessarily play everything.

And yeah, they intend to make money off of this game, weird isn't it?
Is this the $150 bucks we're talking about here for a supposedly unfinished unreleased game? That is sort of weird yes. Most games are $50 unless you're drinking the cool aid. It may be legal but it's certainly extremely shady. Just the way I want all my MMO games to start out. "I like them a little on the trashy side."
For those of you who may not know but your 150 gets you about 120 bucks worth or stuff. SO in essence, you're spending 30 bucks to play alpha. If your going to hate the game thats fine but at least be informed.
True. But tell that to the people that bought in and found the game to be crap. They would have never spent the extra $120 bucks for bells and whistles. Call the cash grab whatever you want and justify it however you see fit. I just sit back and laugh at the people paying to beta test. You know what they say about one being born every minute and all.
When people start paying for alphas and betas, which is now starting to be a trend starting with how successful SOE's Landmark paid Alpha and Beta has been, we will start to see every game company start to have these paid betas which will ultimately push the release date of these games 1 year longer or more then they have to be for release. Keep that in mind when you pay for something unfinished.

I'm sure everyone will agree with you, however, the very next "exclusive Early Access" that's offered for a big-name game will see the same (or bigger) stampede of players throwing money at their screens. It's just human nature.
Developers will keep offering these deals as long as players are happy to buy them, and players will be happy to buy them as long as developers keep offering them...
To be honest, I found those people who were promoting the 150 dollars package quite questionable. Most of them were new accounts, few post counts etc. In fact, one of them was a (ex) marketing manager for trion games. But hey, if you think it's a good deal, go for it. I'd rather burn it to enjoy the warmth then pay for something you will get free eventually.

Boobs are LIFE, Boobs are LOVE, Boobs are JUSTICE, Boobs are mankind's HOPES and DREAMS. People who complain about boobs have lost their humanity.

I personally find $150 a steep price to pay for any video game upfront.
Whatever their reasons though, they can charge however much they like.

RIP Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan and Paul Gray.
I agree especially when you only get three months sub time. Some games give you a lifetime sub for $200.
