BMunchausenBMunchausen Staff WriterMMORPG.COM Staff Posts: 400

August 9th marks the SMITE North American Pro League Kick Off LAN with the top four teams from the 10-week qualifier season. The competition happens in Atlanta at the Cobb Energy Center Ballroom.

Team Dignitas, Snipe, COGnitive Gaming and COGnitive Red are already guaranteed a spot in teh Pro League Tournament regardless of how they do in the Kick Off, but they'll want to come out on top because the winner walks away with $50,000. It would also position them well for participation in the SMITE World Championships.

Check out the SMITE World Championship Reveal Trailer down below.

Moba games are awful to watch. Lots of boring when nothing happens, confusing GFXEFFECTSPLATTER and specator enjoyment  is limited by low skill ceiling of the game - its also all build in to the whole concept of MOBA so cant fix it easily.

To all the moba diehard fans out there: Would you enjoy competive DAYZ / or tower defence ?

I agree with you that MOBAs are very boring to watch... but not smite. LoL, Dota, Hon, those are boring to watch. Smite keeps my interest all the way through. Very action packed, even early on. You just seem like you have something against MOBA's... a low skill ceiling? It's exactly the opposite, it's an incredibly high skill ceiling.. especially in Smite.

I love watching Dota 2, and to answer your question Sai. I would watch Day Z. Lol

Who said this won't be perfect after all we know what is right
And the sounds of bodies clashing is enough to make them cry.
You know this cannot be perfect even when it is feeling right.
And the sound of bodies crashing echo through the night.

im not sure how well would that work, but i enjoy watching FrankieOnPCin1080p play DayZ a lot so i guessa competitive scene  there would be interesting. But the full pvp servers are usually awful since there is no actual survival anymore.

I'd say Smite has a higher skill ceiling than most MOBAs simply due to the fact that every attack is a skillshot.  Auto-attack builds take a lot more accuracy.  Even with the perfect build, if you can't hit anyone with your basic attacks, it's GG.

Mobas have an insane skill cap. Heck, knowing all of the champions alone takes quite a while.
